Spit-up in a 2 month old. How about Aethusa?

Posted by: Kiran

My 2 month old baby spits up a huge quantity after feeding. Also she doesnt sleep much. One homeopath prescribed aethuja for vomitting. Is it safe to take it? We noticed she sleeps a lot after taking it and her stools instead of normal yellow brcome dark in color

Aethusa must have been selected on the basis of your child’s symptoms. When children spit up large amounts after feeds, there may be some amount of reflux involved. This makes the child uncomfortable, especially in the lying down position. This may be a reason for your child to not sleep much. If your child gets more comfortable with the effect of the remedy, it is likely that the child may sleep more. Nothing wrong with that. Children at that age usually do need many hours of sleep. The colour of the stools may really have nothing to do with Aethusa. Is your child only on breast-feed or have you introduced formula too? Depending on the intake, the stools may change colour.
Do discuss your concerns with your homeopath.
