PRESENTING COMPLAINTS:

A 30 yr old male patient came to the OPD of NIH, Kolkata with complaints of :

  1. Multiple warts since 2years.
  • Bilateral – on back of hands (on finger joints), neck, right forearm.
  • Started from right side to left side.
  • Warts are small, circular, multiple, round, grey in color.
  1. Soft multiple subcutaneous nodules on abdomen, arm since 1-2 years.

HISTORY OF PRESENT COMPLAINTS:

Patient was apparently well two years ago. Then gradually he suffered from warts on back side of right hand, on forearm, neck, then on left side of hand. Warts were small, circular, and multiple, round, grey in color. He took allopathic treatment without effect. He was also suffering from painless, soft multiple subcutaneous nodules on the abdomen and arm for 1-2 years.

PAST HISTORY IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER: jaundice 4-5 years back.

FAMILY HISTORY:  Nothing significant

PERSONAL AND SOCIAL HISTORY:

  • Marital status: married 2 years ago.
  • Study- up to 12th, average in study

HOMOEOPATHIC CHARACTERISTICS AND OBSERVATION (GENERALITIES):

Physical generals:-

  • Appetite: good
  • Thirst: thirsty
  • Desire: salt, oily food
  • Aversion: not specific.
  • Stool: not specific.
  • Urine: not specific.
  • Sleep: sound, refreshing
  • Dreams: murder, dead bodies
  • Perspiration: generalized
  • Tongue: moist, white
  • Thermal reaction: wants to cover head when windy, even in summer. Chilly.
  • Build:

MENTAL GENERALS:

  • Few friends, likes to be alone.
  • Ambitious about money
  • H/o business loss
  • Mild, fear of fight

PHYSICAL EXAMINATON:

Appearance: Obese.

Exam: Anaemia: absent, Cyanosis: absent, Clubbing: absent, Oedema: absent, Neck vein: not engorged, Neck glands: not palpable, Pulse: 78 beat/minute, BP: 110/80mm of Hg,.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS: – Warts , Lipoma

TOTALITY OF SYMPTOMS:

  • Ambitious about money.
  • Few friends, likes to be alone.
  • Mild, fear of fighting
  • H/o business loss
  • Thirst: thirsty
  • Desire: salt,
  • Dreams: murder, dead bodies
  • Thermal reaction: wants to cover head when fanning even in summer. Chilly.
  • Warts on hands.
  • Build:

REPERTORIZATION  OF SYMPTOMS:

Done from RADAR10 (access to synthesis 9.0).

 

ANALYSIS OF REPERTORIAL RESULT:

Calc-carb – 11/22, Sulph– 11/19, Nat-mur – 9/24, Thuja- 9/17, Sepia- 9/15, Nat-carb- 9/14, Phos.- 8/17, Rhus-tox-  8/16, Anac- 8/15.

Calcarea carb was the most suitable similar medicine for the case. So treatment started with Calcarea carb.

PRESCRIPTION:-

First visit date : 04 April 2015

Rx

  1. Calcarea carb 30 / O.D. / 15 days.
  2. Xentine 30 / O.D. /15 days.

·        Slight difficulty in hearing from left ear on and off since 2-3 months.

·        Lipoma growth reduced.

·        Dreams of murder, dead bodies now less frequently

·        Other physical generals are normal.

Rx

a)       Nihilinum 1M 2 doses

b)      Xentine 200 / B.D. / 30 days.

4.20 Feb. 2016·        No warts recurrence.

·        Lipoma growth and size reduced.

·        Difficulty in hearing from left ear very less.

·        Dreams of murder, dead bodies – absent.

·        No new complains.

·        Other physical generals are normal.

Rx

a)     Sac lac 1M one dose.

b)    Rub-Met  6 / O.D. / 30 days.

 

COMMENT:

In this case, the constitutional remedy Calcarea carb completely cured the patient and it not only removed the warts but also the frequency of dreams of murder and dead bodies, and also reduced the Lipoma growth. There were no signs of warts since 7 months, even after the last prescription of Calcarea carb, given on 18 May 2015, and he did not take any other medicine. This is the beauty of homoeopathy, a holistic system of medicine.

It is not the disease but the patient which we have to cure. Totality of symptoms is the sole guide for prescription of homoeopathic medicines. The most similar homoeopathic medicine not only treats the patient but also blocks the path of recurrent affection of patients from the disease conditions.
