Two “Hopeless” Infertility Cases

Homeopathy solved the hopeless cases of Infertility by improving AMH: Materia Medica became ‘The final court of appeal.’

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive within 12 months without any use of contraceptive measures. This diagnosis is therefore shared by 15% of couples attempting to conceive. When non-conception is due to faults on the side of the female, the causes may be local or constitutional.

Amongst local causes are:

Natural defects in the formation of the vagina, uterus, ovaries, etc., which is comparatively rare.  Ppolypi or other tumours in the uterus, displacement of that organ, leucorrhoea, etc.

Constitutional Causes Include

1]Those in which the general physical powers are impaired, or exhausted by acute or chronic disease.

2]Obesity.

3]Too severe exertion.

4]Tendency to be stressed, by which an undue amount of nervous power is diverted from the reproductive organs.

5] A luxurious or inactive mode of life.

6] Sexual frigidity, etc.

AMH: Women are born with their lifetime supply of eggs, and these gradually decrease in both quality and quantity with age. Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) is a hormone secreted by cells in developing egg sacs (follicles). The level of AMH in a woman’s blood is generally a good indicator of her ovarian reserve. A woman can be infertile because of low AMH.

CASE 1

1.  A 32 years old woman from Myanmar visited at 19^th  July 2018  for  deficient AMH hormone (0.01) as well hypothyroidism (0.06); with secondary Amenorrhoea since 4 months. She had dark clotted menses, suppressed menses, U/S abdomen showed Bilateral small ovaries (premature ovarian failure), hypothyroidism and sterility. Angry, brooding nature and high expectations from others.  Basically, this was the case of secondary sterility.

2. Her husband said she feels very disappointed after the ultrasound report. She is sad as her both ovaries are not functioning well. Her menses didn’t appear the last four  months, and she is very angry about it. She expects a lot from her husband  and from others too.

Thermal reaction- chilly.

PRESCRIPTION Ignatia 200

Ignatia 200 one aqua dose was prescribed on19^th July as the constitutional remedy based on dark clotted menses, suppressed menses, anger at contradiction, brooding nature and high expectations of attention from husband (not for money but for his quality time too). Same dose repeated at 19^th August and 20^th September. Thyroidinum 30  and Syphilinum 30 were also used as per the need of the case.

AFTER HOMEOPATHIC MEDICATION AS PER HER CONSTITUTION

OCTOBER 2018 REPORTS WERE-

Just within 3 months her AMH and TSH level came in normal range with Homeopathic medication!

CASE 2

A lady of 30 years from Qatar consulted me for secondary infertility with AMH <0.01 at 04 April 2018. In her first pregnancy abortion was induced in the 3rd month of gestation as the fetus died in uterus. During her second pregnancy she had spontaneous miscarriage at the second month. The patient was afraid that she would lose her child again in uterus. Still, she wanted pregnancy! Her gynecologist suggested that she should adopt a child as she could never can never become pregnant with such low AMH.

In this case, the remedy was chosen on two important points:

1. frequent abortion in early months of pregnancy
2. Fear of death of baby in uterus

Viburnum Opulus was 200 given on 10^th May, 2018 in water as per the history of frequent abortions in early month of pregnancy  plus present complaint of suppressed menses and her overall totality of symptoms.

Aurum Mur Natronatrum 200 one dose was given 2 months after Viburnum  on 12^th July 2018 to cover the syphilitic background and as per present symptomatology. Viburnum 200 was repeated in September 2018.

Just within 7 months on 14th November, 2018 her blood test showed: AMH 1.89 with homeopathic medication. These are the evidence-based studies.

CONCLUSION:

In both cases menses reappeared. Lab investigations showed drastic changes in AMH in both the patients. In the first case the AMH raised to 0.14 from 0.06 and in the second case it went from 0.01 to 1.89ng/ml. In the first case the TSH level went from 0.06 came to 3.64  which is within  normal limits.

While handling the cases of infertility with low AMH ; the constitutional remedy is a better choice. In both the cases, the exact rubric explaining the patient’s behaviour  and fear could not be found in Repertory, but the symptoms were traceable in Material Medica.  The repertory is very well described in terms of which rubric has which remedy, but it does not tell the subtlety of those  rubrics.

Example:  In the repertory, fear of dark in children has 14 remedies but to know the meaning of exact fear of dark we have to look in materia medica for each remedy. Stramonium has fear of dark due to delusion of a black dog attacking him or the room is on fire. Belladonna has fear of dark because he has horrible visions in the dark like ghosts, monsters.  We need to explore Materia Medica to check the reliability of the remedy in the given subject.

In first case, apart from other totality, high expectations from her husband were found in materia medica of Ignatia. In the second case fear of death of a baby in uterus was found in materia for Viburnum. Though these rubrics were not there in repertory but they were there in materia medica. And hence, Materia Medica is the final court of appeal.
