Bring The Criminals to Justice

Editorial December 2016

On September 28th 2016, the UK Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) sent a letter1 to all homeopaths in the UK stating:

“Homeopaths may not currently make either direct or implied claims to treat medical conditions.”  “On the basis of expert advice, the ASA concluded that the evidence [for homeopathy] was insufficient to support any advertising efficacy claims.”

Really, is that what the expert advice showed?  The letter went on to threaten homeopaths with sanctions ranging from having search engines disable their paid-search ads, to criminal charges being filed by Trading Standards.

Across the pond in the U.S., the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), held hearings on over-the-counter homeopathic remedies in 2015. During the hearings they received hundreds of documents in support of homeopathy and heard many hours of testimony from eminent homeopathic doctors and from homeopathic pharmacists. A year later, on Nov. 15, 2016, they issued an “Enforcement Policy Statement”. 2

“There are no valid studies using current scientific methods showing the product’s efficacy“.  “Marketing claims that homeopathic products have a therapeutic effect, lack a reasonable basis and are likely misleading in violation of Sections 5 and 12 of the FTC Act.14

The FTC then demanded that all homeopathic remedies sold in stores throughout the U.S. must have a warning on the label stating:

There is no scientific evidence that this product works. This product’s claims are based on theories of homeopathy from the 1700’s that are not accepted by most modern medical experts.”

The FTC ruling has already gone round the world, and will be used by other governments as “expert” opinion to suppress homeopathy. It’s recently been mentioned in newspapers in Ireland, Israel and India.

A similar climate exists in Australia where an esteemed homeopath was fined over $100,000 for asserting that homeopathy is effective in whooping cough.

Of course, there are 200 years of clinical cases proving homeopathy’s efficacy backed up by hundreds of studies on people, animals, plants and in vitro. 3 What we’re dealing with here is the big lie, being perpetrated by corrupt government officials on the payroll of Pharma. It’s time to hold these people accountable. There are laws in every country against officials taking bribes and malfeasance in office. Write to your legislators and demand that they investigate and bring these criminals to justice. Send them the links to hundreds of homeopathy studies, including disease prevention with homeopathy, at the end of this article.3 4   Tell them that the regulatory agencies are protecting Pharma profits, not the public.

Meanwhile, let us insist that pharmaceutical drugs be labeled honestly, like this:

“This drug was tested by the same company that profits from it, and which company has been fined millions of dollars in the past for lying about test results. This drug does not cure any medical condition, but only suppresses symptoms which may ultimately make the patient sicker. This drug has already  killed or injured X  number of people.”

  • Alan, a very interesting and yet shocking and horrifying editorial! That “disclaimer” that’s supposed to go on Boiron tubes? It will never fit on them! Besides, someone needs to tell them that their dates are wrong! (“This product’s claims are based on theories from the 1700’s.”) I loved your “disclaimer” that should go on all Pharmaceutical drugs! “This product doesn’t cure anything, but it will most likely cause your condition to become worse.”

  • Sir
You are 100% correct, attacking Homeopathy system has become passion in recent times, because Phamas companies have developed psychic fear of Hopeopathy’s growing popularity in the entire world. Their business vested interest at the cost human sufferings is above all. No Homoeopath is against or making any adverse propogonda against Allopathy system. now a days new types of diseases are cropping-up, scientific tests are must to assertain the disease condition. HOMEOPATHY practioners never discourage the patient for scientific approach, even then why pharmas are still afraid about their business downfall ?
Hanheman was also a medical scientist, himself was MD allopathy , himself disgusted about the allopathis side-effects and discovered Homoeopathy system That means an Allopathic Doctor invented system, how it it becomes unscientific?
Now need of the hour is -Institutionaly Qualified all Doctors in the entire World, should form a World level Association, collect evidences of – cure, heal, overcoming evidences of their chronic conditions, offofrdability, benign action on human-beings, no side-effects evidencec in both Video and written statements by Lakhs of patients in the entire world, submit it to WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION and should be fought in UNO legal platform and challenge it in the highest court in those countries. This should be done in the interest of survival of Homoeopathic system, otherwise all big fish will eat all small fish and will permaently destroy Homoeopathy.
atleast now it is the time for initiative.
    Venkatesh cs
