Quality Vs Quantity

- Dr. Manish Bhatia

Homeopathy and Hpathy both are growing rapidly. Homeopathy is growing with thousands of new homeopaths and millions of new patients coming to homeopathy every year. Hpathy is growing with nearly 40 to 50 thousand people accessing its content every month which results in close to a million page-views. Even our four month old journal is now subscribed by more than 4000 people. Not to mention that the journal is now being read by most renowned homeopaths in the world. Phenomenal growth is taking place for homeopathy on the ground and on the Net!

But as often happens, when the quantitative growth is too much, it is difficult to maintain the quality. It is happening on the ground. Many homeopathy schools are churning out homeopaths which are below standard. This is more true for the South-Asian region where homeopathy schools have mushroomed in hundreds in the past decade. The quality of homeopathy education in many such institutes is a matter of concern.

Hpathy also keeps facing problems due to rapid growth. The technical problems are resolved by putting more resources into it but the qualitative problems are not so easy to resolve. A lot of human effort is needed to serve you quality content month after month. The ezine team deserves special applause for improving the quality with each passing month. But bringing out an issue every 30 days is not an easy task. The strain on the members of the editorial team often becomes visible with so many deadlines to meet.

The editorial team of the journal is looking for ways to ensure better quality control for the journal. Many suggestions have come up like making the journal bimonthly or increasing the staff or reducing the quantity of content. Since this is 'YOUR' ezine. I invite your comments regarding this issue. What do you think should be the future course for this ezine? What direction should it be given? How are we to balance the quantitative growth with the quality control? Your opinions and suggestions are welcome. Please write to us at editor@hpathy.com.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Manish Bhatia
