| The other day I got tangled up in two dogs and a leash. I fell
over backwards landing partially on my right hand, but mostly on
my back end! I didn't think I was injured and pretty much got on
with the rest of my day but I noticed the pain shortly before bed.
The next morning when I got up, it was painful to walk. I found
out later, that it was painful to sit as well. My tailbone
really hurt!
I was doing a lot of sitting that day (with the aid
of a pillow!) reviewing my son's case. As I was flipping through
the pages of Murphy's Repertory, it occurred to me to look up something
for myself! So, I looked in the Back chapter and found
many remedies for back pain. Working back and forth, I had it narrowed
down to a few remedies. Short of tracking down Elaine for help,
I decided to take a look in Murphy's Homeopathic Remedy Guide at
the remedies that I had come up with. The first remedy I looked
up was Hypericum and I needn't have looked any further! There it
was, "Coccyx injury from a fall." The
rest of the remedy picture fit as well. I was so grateful that Elaine
had recommended these books to me!
Now, here's the funny thing. I was already taking Hypericum ( as
per instructions from the aforementioned Elaine [Lewis], my wonderful,
funny and kind homeopath) as I had just had dental surgery and was
sufferring from a lot of swelling and numbness, but I hadn't had
any on that particular day because I had gotten some relief from
the swelling and numbness the day before. So, I had the remedy bottle
on hand and treated the back pain as a different acute and dosed
every half hour or so. When the pain stopped, I stopped sipping
from the remedy bottle. When it returned, I re-dosed. By the end
of the next day, the pain was practically all gone; the next morning,
totally gone! I was amazed; and to think, I did it all myself.
