Creating a Space for Homeopathy

Creating a Space for Homeopathy

For people just beginning in homeopathy, one of the best ways to learn is through a study group. These groups are typically comprised of young mothers, students or retired folks who have an interest in homeopathy, but either aren’t yet ready, or don’t have the resources to attend a homeopathy school. The groups meet once a month wherever they can find a free space (someone’s house, a local school, church ) The members learn from each other, sharing their experiences, and also invite local homeopaths to lecture. The groups are usually free, or charge a nominal fee.

I ran one of these groups for five years in the United States, starting with donated space in a gymnasium. I printed up flyers and posted them at health food stores, universities and libraries, handed them to shoppers at malls and left them on buses and trains.

It was a nice surprise at our first meeting when fifteen people showed up. Some were highly motivated and others came just out of curiosity. The next month, they brought friends and relatives, swelling the group. Eventually, we secured a free 200 seat lecture hall at Thomas Jefferson Medical College. Posting notices in the school’s newsletter (next to announcements of grand rounds surgery) brought in medical and nursing students. Initially, the medical students sat in the back, sometimes scoffing at us, but after a while they started sitting up front, asking questions and even buying books.

Local homeopaths donated their time as guest lecturers, and they in turn, found many new patients. The use of free public service announcements on radio and in local papers, helped the group grow to 60 people a month. Thierry Montfort, who was Boiron’s chief in the U.S., gave a lecture one night and it drew 200 people.

Over the years hundreds of people visited the group, learning homeopathy and sharing inspiring stories of healing after a lifetime of suffering. A handful went on to study homeopathy professionally and are still in practice today.

It’s really quite easy to create a space for people to learn. The magic of homeopathy and people’s enthusiasm does the rest.

  • Dear Sir,
Homeopathy is misunderstood science and doctors from modern science do not recogniseis as medicinal science. That is reason it is difficult for people to experiance the real benefits as medicine, Recently in India , IIT engineers proved its effectivenss by Nano tech procedures and this in future going to be most modern science of treating people by gentle ways and without complications due to side effects if correct remedy is instituted. In India it being widely used as alternative science.

Your efforts are really appreciable and I wish to congratulate you
    Dr. N. V. Pai

  • Dear Sir,
    Good idea.
I do not find this ” space for homeopathy” in even regular school graduate practitioner.Their interest is only earn with homeopathy, not learn with people like-minded, to promote the name and fame of homeopathy.
I like an editorial issue to be published for graduate practitioner in Hpathy.
    yours sincerely,
