There is conflict and confusion in the mind of Lil-tig between religious ideals and sexuality (MIND – RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS – too occupied with religion – sexuality; conflict between religious ideals and) (MIND – RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS – too occupied with religion – alternating with – sexual excitement) He tries to control, hide, rather suppress his impulses as he feels if he does not control it at this level he will surely go mad

(MIND – DELUSIONS – insane – become insane; one will) (MIND – DELUSIONS – insane – become insane; one will – hold himself; if he did not = lil-t single remedy) (MIND – FEAR – insanity) So, he turns towards religiousness which is actually the opposite of sexuality where it is taught that sex is an evil act or crime and one should be refrain from it (MIND – RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS – too occupied with religion – melancholia) So, he keeps busy in religious work, reading etc. so that his sexual thoughts will go away (MIND – BUSY) (MIND – BUSY – fruitlessly) (MIND – BUSY – must keep) But this conflict or struggle drains his energy (as it not healthy, it is a deliberate act which exhausts him) and he gets confused and makes mistakes, cannot concentrate.

MIND – CONCENTRATION – difficult – crazy feeling on top of head, wild feeling in head with confusion of ideas

MIND – WILD feeling in head

MIND – WILD feeling in head – sexual desire; from suppression of

With the suppression of the sexual energy comes a type of frantic state with a crazy or wild feeling in the head.

MIND – CONFUSION of mind – muscles refuse to obey the will when attention is turned away

Simple meaning or cross references of above rubric is =

  1. MIND – CONCENTRATION – difficult – working, while – work; must concentrate continuously on his work or ‘his hands forget what they are doing’.
  2. MIND – WILL – muscles refuse to obey the will when attention is turned away

It means that he has to be careful, vigilant of his acts. He should concentrate on his work. Whenever he turns his attention from the work in hand, his muscles refuse to obey his will. This is literary meaning of it. But in case of Lil-tig the context of rubric is =

CONFLICT BETWEEN SEXUAL EXCITEMENT AND RELIGIOUS IDEALS

There is a deep conflict inside the patient between a strongly sexual nature and an equally strong moral side. This conflict or any other strong inner conflict produces a type of frustration which is expressed mainly through anger (MIND – ANGER – sexual excitement; after = lil-t) (MIND – RAGE – sexual desire; from suppressed = lil-t) when the patient crosses the limit she becomes very sexual (MIND – NYMPHOMANIA) and can not restrain these feelings. However, when her equally deep moral or religious feelings return she feels great remorse (MIND – REMORSE) and subsequent depression.

He tries to keep himself busy so that sexual thoughts or ideas will be forgotten but he can not fully succeed in it. If he tries deliberately to fly from thoughts it they arise with much force.

(It is not present in Anxiety-conscience of and Reproaching himself with but it is present in remorse)

MIND – DELUSIONS – wrong – done wrong; he has

The patient will take offense (=n. a lack of politeness; a failure to show regard for others; wounding the feelings or others) no matter how kindly she is treated.
