It may also be compared with NOXA (L.), which means ‘noxious or damage’. ‘Nosodotherapy’ means the therapeutic use of organic reactional wastes or some ætiological factors which are the source of the ‘damage’ to the disease. The term ‘nosode’ has no legal existence in France & Germany and has been replaced by the term ‘biotherapy’. Dr. Pierre Schmidt explained nosodes as ‘an isopathic remedy‘. According to him, “If it is applied after having been tested on a healthy man, it becomes a nosode”. Actually, many of the nosodes do not possess this quality. Homeopath René Allendy defined nosodes: ”The nosode is characterized by a pathological substance used as the medicine prepared in advance and according to the homeopathic method of dilution“. Fortier Bernoville characterized a nosode as “Specificity and Immunity“. “Nosodes are some homeopathic preparations obtained from microbe cultures, from viruses, pathological secretions and excretions” [Order of 'Codification of Official Homeopathic Preparations'; Official Journal of France; published on December 29,1948]. Stedman’s medical Dictionary defines nosode as – “An agent administered in minute doses in the treatment of the disease, which in large amount, it causes; an isopathic term, signifying a bacterine or bacterial vaccine”. Rules of Prescribing Nosodes: As a Constitutional Medicine – i.e. when the mental, physical generals and particulars are characteristics. When well chosen remedies fails to give relief. When there is a lack of symptoms – i.e. to clear-up the case. “Never ...

A Brief introduction to Oscar Boericke’s Repertory

Homeopathy Repertory

Oscar E. Boericke‘s “Repertory to Homeopathic Materia Medica” is a Clinical Repertory – covering the Whole body. This was first published in companion with the 9th edition of Dr. William BÅ“ricke’s ‘Pocket Manual of Homeopathic Materia Medica‘, in June 1927 from Philadelphia, USA. 1. There are 25 chapters. The arrangement of the chapters according to the Hahnemannian order – i.e. Mind, Head, Eyes, Ears, ….. etc. 2. The rubrics and sub-rubrics in each chapter are alphabetically arranged. 3. Almost all the rubrics are presented in Complete order – e.g. Headache is presented, with caption, in the order of — Cause, Type, Location, Character of pain, Concomitants, Modalities (Aggravation and Amelioration). Side is presented first, Left and then, the Right. Similarly, first, Lower and then, the Upper extremities are presented. 4. To preserve the uniformity, the technical names of the diseases are bracketed. As it is a ‘clinical repertory and not truly symptomatological index, the technical terms are often selected as main headings and when feasible, the more or less complete symptoms constitute the sub-headings‘. 5. This repertory deals with 1409 medicines. The medicines are presented alphabetically. 6. It consists 02 types of typography —- · Italics – more frequently verified clinical remedy [Highest rank]. · Roman – less verified [Lowest rank]. Having such references would be a big help in finding a good Simile. I have experienced the disappearance of some of these symptoms in animals that I treated homoeopathically. I kept statistical records, but the computer makes such a task much easier. In Autumn 1996 I met Frederik Schroyens during a teachers’ seminar in Alonissos, Greece. This is where George Vithoulkas lives and has built a wonderful academy for homoeopathy. During this seminar we discussed my ideas and decided to make a concerted effort. We planned a Veterinary Repertory built upon the human Synthesis. After some organisational issues were addressed, we slowly began working on the project. The database is assembled and we can present to you our joint effort. May it bring some of the Greek sun into your consulting room. — Marc Bär Why a Veterinary Repertory? From Human to Animal – The Translation of Symptoms by Marc Bär, DVM 1. INTRODUCTION If we look at the state of our planet, it is obvious that humans are the strangest animals living on the surface of the earth. This opinion would probably not be contested, at least not by ecologists. In homoeopathy, this axiom holds true in reverse. This is not really a surprise, as Homoeopathy ...

How To Use The Repertory with A Practical Analysis of Forty Homeopathic Remedies – Introduction – by Kent

Homeopathy Repertory

How To Use The Repertory - G I Bidwell

Introduction The degree of vitality Homoeopathy enjoys in any given period will always be indexed by the methods of its disciples and exponents, not merely by the soundness of their teaching, but specially by the thoroughness and accuracy of their practice. I know of no better gauge of this vitality than the interest shown in repertory work, for the repertory is our chief instrument of precision. True, some men do some good work without the repertory, but they also do poor work, more than they would do with it. A self-made artisan may be a very useful man although ignorant of the theory and most advanced methods obtaining in his line of work, but he can never measure up to the man whom education and thoroughness of method has made an expert. No such thing as infallibility in prescribing will ever be attained, but he who uses his repertory faithfully and intelligently – and no one can do that without equal faithfulness and intelligence in his study of the Materia Medica – will inevitably reap his reward, in results and in that peace of mind that comes only with an approving conscience. It is encouraging, therefore, to realize that there are some who desire to follow the better way, – that there is some demand for such works as this of Dr. Bidwell’s, excellently qualified, as it is to initiate into effective use of repertory methods; it seems to show that beneath the ashes and debris heaped up by ultra-scientific ...

How To Use The Repertory – Preface

Homeopathy Repertory

How To Use The Repertory - G I Bidwell

Preface. The call from the members of our school for an index of the symptoms of our materia medica has been insistent ever since the first edition of the Materia Medica Pura. This call has resulted in the publishing of several repertories, from the earliest ones, which covered the few remedies then proven to the last edition of Kent, which is an index to all the remedies proven homoeopathically or confirmed clinically to the present time. When members of our school turn to this vast work for assistance they are confronted with a maze of material, which, to the uniniated, is more confusing than the materia medica. It is to help the members of our school who are desirous of mastering and using the repertory that this little work is presented. The repertory, the arrangement and use of which I try to make clear and from which the examples are given, is that of Kent (Second Edition), as this is the only unabridged work we have and the one that is most simple and satisfying to use. The general plan of the repertory work here laid down can be used equally well with any other repertory, the only change needed being that you must master the arrangement of your favorite work. Boenninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocket Book, a copy of which is in the library of nearly every homoeopath, may be used by this plan, although it will be difficult from the fact of its briefness and the fact that the modalities ...
