I read on some website that Tumeric may prevent or get rid of fatty cysts or tumors. Anyone know anything about that. My dog has a lot of them. The vet said none of them feel attached. He had 4 taken off and they were all fat. If there is anything that will get rid of them I would love to try it. I have want to have them removed, just in case there not just fat, but I'd hate to put him through that.

Hello Angelica,

Tumeric isn`t a homeopathic remedy and although it may be a good product, I haven`t seen or heard of any positive scientific reports yet. Maybe they will be published in the near future???

It is possible to remove growths in general by homeopathy, but for this a full case history needs to be taken by a qualified vet. hom. or hom. vet.

It usually takes quite a long time (a year or over) to reduce or to remove a growth, whether it is benign or malignant.

For treating this disorder the constitutional remedy is usually selected first and a nosode to give the selected remedy a chance to work properly.

This is because many dogs show hereditary carcinogenic (cancerous) tendencies.

Remedies are given under the guidance of a professional who knows when the potency he started with should be increased. Several increases are usually necessary, e.g. using the LM potencies.

So online treatment is not very well possible.

Wim.

Since tumeric is just a spice I figured it probably wouldn't hurt to try. We are pretty positive the tumors are not cancerous since they are slow growing and carefully monitored by me and the vet. He had 4 removed and they were just fat.

Just looking for a way to reduce them without surgery or prevent future ones from occuring.

I have read that some believe food may cause it, or skin problems. He has had a skin problems most of his life. He used to eat Science Diet which was bad on his stomach, he developed an ulcer and acid reflux. He had horrible skin problems, chewed himself raw. After a year on Nutro food his skin is not itchy anymore, his ulcer is gone, his acid reflux is gone and he's much more energetic.

Hello Angelica, I talked to a colleague of mine just now, who had also some doubts about using tumeric. It has anti-inflammatory effects, not particularly necessary in this case, I think. But considering the situation you could try it anyway, because it won`t do any harm. Wim.

This is an aside;

when a bride and groom get married in India, part of the ceremony is for them both to be covered in tumeric as it brings out any latent skin problems in short time. Like a last chance to not go through with it should anything happen.
