I am 33 and had my first baby last summer. Don't know if having the baby is relevant but since then I have experienced some very odd episodes of spasm/cramping over my abdominal region. (I gave up smoking cannabis when I got pregnant, so that might have been helping my muscles to relax & preventing the spasms -just a theory). Sometimes it has felt as if it was in my back but mostly it covers the area from waist to navel right across the front of my body. The GP put it down to bowel spasm & gave me tablets which did stop the episodes. I don't want to take them though -I'm looking for a homepathic remedy, both as a general aid for my digestive system and also as an immediate help when an 'attack' occurs. These attacks happen for about half an hour, usually in the evening and can be weeks apart. The rest of the time I'm ok apart from fairly irregular bowel movements (often loose, not often constipated) -don't know if this is IBS or not. Any suggestions?

Never had it before I had my baby. I had a c-section so wondered if that had caused a problem but my doctor thought very unlikely. Uterus now back where it should be & pain is much higher than that. Pain is like a severe ache -a bit lke a menstrual cramp but where that comes & goes, this comes on quite quickly, stays for 20-30 mins then subsides over next 10-20 minutes. It effects my breathing -as though my diaphram is constricted, although this may be because I panic a bit when it happens. Relaxing helps -e.g. lying still & reading to take mind off it. Sometimes hot bath helps. Not taken anything to try to remove the pain when it happens as it all happens too quickly. Otherwise, my digestion is 'sensitive' but not abnormal -i.e. stomach sometimes easily upset (by anxiety, cheese, chocolate, coffee), sometimes it's fine.

Thanks for this. The 'attacks' are infrequent so I probably won't be able to let you know if it helps for a while yet. Will try it though.
