Dr. Ramkrishnan has extensive experience in the homeopathic
treatment of cancer. He has treated over 7000 cases of cancer.
He describes himself a strict Kentian homeopath. However, when he
used the classical methods, his results with cancer patients were
usually poor. He has developed a new approach, which has brought
him much greater success. In all other diseases, he remains a pure,
single remedy, single dose prescriber, but in cancer he uses multiple
remedies in alteration, frequent repetition of dose, and a special
method of plussing.
Dr. A. U. Ramakrishnan presented a seminar in Berne in June 2003.
These are excerpts from Josef - Karl Graspeutner's seminar notes.
Philosophy about the treatment of cancer
According to AUR, not only the genetic susceptibility and environmental
influences (smoking, chemical injuries), but also the inner environment
of the patient (inner and intellectual pollution, emotional shocks,
sorrow, suppressed anger ...) is of special importance in the analysis
of cases of cancer. So the inner process of the patient must be
understood and accompanied with the understanding pf the external
factors.
In the homoeopathic therapy of cancer the first aim is stopping
of the tumour growth. For this reason both tumour and organ-specific
remedies are given. Here one should be conscious of the fact, that
the actual cure of the patient and to attain control over the tumour
are two different processes. For the cure to be successful, not
only the suitable constitutional remedy is needed, but the patient
must have knowledge about his inner self and must attain an inner
balance, so that homeopathy can start working successfully.
For Dr. Ramakrishnan, a central approach for a successful cure
is that the patient should be internally relaxed, calm and happy.
Dr. Ramakrishnan always tries to find out how his patients will
get happiness, in order to create a internal positive potential,
enabling them to support their healing processes actively.
Apart from this, it is of exceptional importance that all doubts
should be kept away from the patient by the therapist's intellectual
strength and conviction. Absolute certainty in the choice of the
remedy is one of the qualifications, that a therapist has to meet.
The right assessment of the parameters of progress, which can be
managed only with much experience, is another prerequisite for a
successful case.
In every single case, the homoeopath has to try to understand the
nature and the life of the patient. As a rule, several appointments
are necessary for this, because it is a quite difficult process
for many of the patients to completely open themselves to another
person in one session.
Prevention, healing, offering protection with homoeopathy
A patient, who mentions cases of cancer in his family history,
should be treated preventively with homoeopathy
and a constant eye should be kept on his susceptibility and vitality
when such a petient comes for homeopathic treatment of any other
problem.
Homeopathic prevention in post-treatment
Dr. Ramakrishnan notices that in India, the recurrence rate of
cancer is higher with patients who are treated exclusively with
conventional methods, than with patiens who are treated exclusively
or complementarily with homeopathy. Dr. AUR advises that homeopathy
medicines should not be given along with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
These treatment will interfere with the homeopathy protocol and
will make it less effective. If chemotherapy or radiotherapy is
being given then homeopathy medicines should be given in the intermittent
period.
The Split method
This method is used by Dr. Ramakrishnan in his cancer therapy.
For example, he prescribes Aurum metallicum C200 (which he, as a
rule, prefers to the C30) in a certain case, and he lets the patient
take it four times a day. Three globules at a time - in the morning
after getting up, half an hour before lunch, half an hour before
dinner and once again before going to bed. This dose is given only
for a single day, and then it is left to work. The effective time
is judged by the therapist's own experience and by the change in
the picture of complaints of the patient.
The Split method also is used by Dr. Ramakrishnan in acute cases:
For example, during an acute asthmatic attack, acute colics etc,
he first prescribes a remedy to be taken every three or five minutes
(e.g. Mag. Phos. D6, 3 globules pure every 5 minutes). If the remedy
helps, it is discontinued.
If the same remedy is given again and again without modifying it,
then one can get proving symptoms. For this reason the plussing
method is used in order to avoid an aggravation. AUR says that the
cancer system should be bombarded with the frequent administration
of medicine. By changing the dose, the remedy is tolerated better
by the body.
