Necrotizing Fasciitis

As we are confronted lately with the results of overuse of antibiotics, homeopathy stands before a great challenge. About necrotizing fasciitis, a strong syphilitic condition with early necrosis and death, I was thinking of Cantharis. Kent writes: “The most important feature of this medicine is the inflammatory condition, and the most important characteristic in the inflammation is the rapidity with which it develops into a gangrenous state. Inflammatory conditions follow a definite course for days, but when this medicine is put upon the part internally, the inflammatory state terminates in death of the part with great rapidity.”

Some Cautions on Mercurius vivus

Never give Mercurius with a dry skin. T.K. Moore
Do not give too many doses of Mercurius in Psoric cases. Look for a deeper medicine. It should not be given oftener than twice in a winter. J.T.Kent
Mercurius should not be given before or after Silica. Hepar Sulph is the intercurrent. Silica follows well after Hepar and Hepar follows Mercurius. J.T.Kent
