Mark Moodie and Dr. Iftikar Waris provide homeopathic advice for ailing houseplants and crops. Dec 13.

Hello Mark,

I have a few potted house plants. My pomegranate plant has got mealy bugs or white insects on stems. Help me by mentioning the appropriate med for the
same and also the potency and how much water to add. Can I use the med
in liquid form?  How many times do I spray in a day and how many days?

Thank you

Aspy

My Dear Aspy,

You can alternate  ANTIMONIUM TARTARICUM 1M & PETROLEUM 1M

With the interval of three days.  Make a 1% solution to spray thoroughly.

Dear Plant Doctors

I’m a Rough Lemon grower in the district of Naushahro Froze of Sindh Pakistan. For last the five years our rough lemon trees are not producing fruit as much as they did the last five years. Sometimes not a single fruit was observed. The trees bloom every year but mostly without female parts. I noticed that these blossoms seemed to lack the stigma. I’m sending pics too. Is this phenomenon curable? Is it possible with the use of homeopathy to increase female flowering on trees.  If so please kindly solve our problem.

Dear Plant Doctors:

Several years ago I was placing an order for my annual crops and I decided based on the nutritional value to order Chickweed, Stellaria Media. Having no knowledge of its growth history, I planted it in a patch and it grew lovely, but unfortunately I did NOT know that this herb is invasive.  It has been 5 years since I planted the Chickweed and lo and behold I have a field of it everywhere today.  For 5 years I have pulled it out which has taken me a full week on my hands and knees every spring and all through the season continually up to the winter season.  I used Stellaria Media 6X at 2 applications and it grew nonetheless!  It is everywhere today and has even jumped onto the grass on my property.  Please, please tell me how to eradicate this herb once and for all. It is now out of control and I cannot contain it!!  What to do??

Many thanks for the resolve!

My best,

Susan

Dear Susan,

You can use Thuja  Ocidentalis 200C and Silicea 200 for this purpose.

Dear Plant Doctor,

Over the last two years we have been experiencing severe problems in our olive grove on the Adriatic coast with a weevil called Rhynchites cribripennis. In the year it has first appeared, it has destroyed about 50% of the crop, however, this year about 90% of the olives dropped off the tree. The insect starts feeding on young leaves in late spring and then deposits eggs into young olives in early summer. In late July / early August the larvae feed on the olive kernel, which causes the olives to drop off the tree.

This weevil apparently appears only on certain years and it seems to be limited only to specific very limited areas (e.g. it appears only on certain parts of a particular island).  I would be extremely grateful for any tips on the use of homoeopathic remedies which could help the trees fight against this insect.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kind regards,

Luka

Dear Luka,

You can alternate the following medicines for insect control:

1-ANTIMONIUM TARTARICUM 200C

2- CHELONE 200C

3-SABADILLA 200C

Hello friends!

I’m from Brazil and I was at The Second International Conference on Homeopathy for Plants. I’m a homeopathy student and would like to know Dr. Iftikhar Waris’ interpretation about potencies. When must I use low potencies or high potencies? Is it relative to plant height?  Should high potencies be used when you have a chronic disease?  If I don’t have a medicine with DH scale, can I use CH instead?

Thank you very much.  Hpathy is the best homeopathy website ever!!!

Bruno Barros

Dear Bruno,

The best Potency for plants is 200C & you can use CH potency instead of DH. Actually 1 CH = 2DH.

  • Hello Mark, I have two gum trees in my garden that have been used as a hatching ground for a woodboring moth. The holes are oval and about 3cm in length. The trees are suffering and exuding copious amounts of red sap and the bark is lifting in large sheets. The bottom of the trunks have been affected descending into the ground area. The bark is dark brown in the affected area,
on both trees and one of the trees (species) has a light coloured trunk.

  • Dear Mark, have small gum trees in yard They have a white scale pest on branches which oozes a red substance when removed. Also the bark has become sooty.
I have sprayed with borax and Thrombidium and coccus 6c. Do not think has helped.
Also tried a 3x potency of red exudate.
    Kind Regards, Jean
