The answers that follow are not complete. It is not possible to write a whole thesis on each
one as it requires everything that has been said before, but I will express the basic ideas.

On the other hand these short answers can inspire serious students to ask more questions such as whether, in a chronic case, the appearance of an acute condition that may arise after the remedy, is a good or a bad sign, or when should such condition be treated and when not, or when will a case need a series of remedies in a particular order and when will such a practice confuse the case to such an extent that the patient has no hope of recovery.

On another level the questions that may arise from intelligent students can continue the discussion to a deeper understanding of the problems that we are facing when we practice serious and not superficial homeopathy.

Dear Professor Vithoulkas,

In “The Science of Homeopathy” and your teachings, in certain cases, you advise the thirty potency (dry) for two weeks, three weeks, or thirty days protocol. Quite a few homeopaths claim that repeating a dry potency more than once or on a daily basis without dynamising it upward through succussion before each dose will cause an antidote of that potency. So we are confused and would appreciate it if you can clear up this confusion for us.

Tony

Dear Tony,

In certain cases it is true you need to repeat the remedy, and when you have to do that, it is better to start from a low potency (under 30C)  till you have a reaction (an aggravation of some sort) then stop and observe.  It is better, if you can raise the potency every week. This should be done when the pathology is deep and the remedy is not clear.

There is no difference between a dry and a liquid dose. If, for instance, you dilute a dry dose into water and then take sips from this water, with every sip you take it is actually another dose.

For more details about this matter you may read my book “The Science of Homeopathy” which can be accessed through:

Dear George Vithoulkas,

My 17 year old son sustained 2 head concussions about 1 month apart. After the second concussion,
he was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and the symptoms of concussion continued, with gradual improvement for the past 6 months.

He is now 95% back to himself with this major exception.  After the 1st concussion, he started
having trouble falling asleep at night and staying asleep. These symptoms became much worse after the 2nd concussion. Most nights it takes him 1½ hours or more to fall asleep and then he wakes up 3-5 times and he has difficultly going back to sleep each time. After the head injury, he was given Arnica 200c, Hypericum 200c and Natrum Sulph 200c & 10M. Three weeks ago, I tried Opium 1M for 2 weeks without results followed by Helleborus and 1 week later he says he is not sleeping any better. I don’t know where to go from this point with his remedies.

Thank you for your help
Susan Rhodes

Dear Ms Rhodes

The picture you are giving me is most similar to Nux Vomica and/or Sulphur though you did not give
me a full case. For instance Nux is cold,
Sulphur is a warm remedy etc, etc. Maybe you could try 200c potency and wait for 30 days to have an evaluation .

For information on how to take a full case read the Science of Homeopathy in the relevant section.

Dear Professor
Vithoulkas,

I have a 19 year old client who
has been diagnosed with Pseudo Acanthosis
Nigricans which causes a darkening of the skin at the knuckles,
axilla, around the mouth, knees, the inguinal ligament area and on the back of her neck. This
condition is also called “dirty neck”. The affected skin
has a raised, almost velvety appearance. A dermatologist says it
affects mostly girls at puberty and is caused by the body’s inability
to burn glucose so it goes to the skin. My client has suffered with
this embarrassing condition since she was about 8 years old. She
gets “hygiene lectures” from total strangers!

Question: How do I repertortize
this? She responded well to Hyoscyamus when she was 5 years old
and still gets the occasional dose, but this has appeared since
that time and Hyoscyamus doesn’t seem to address this condition.

Thank you for
all of the wisdom and knowledge you share.

Susan Kingsbury

Dear Susan,

I never had a similar case and so I have no experience
with this.

You can search in
the repertory in a relevant location such as: discoloration black.

My question:

Can homeopathy cause any harm? For example, can suppressing the
symptoms for many years by homeopathy lead to cancer.

Larissa

Dear Larissa,

Yes, homeopathy can suppress symptoms but I do
not think it can cause the deep trauma and the hazards in the
organism that a chemical drug can create.

George Vithoulkas

Would you repeat Carcinosin very often or give it as an intercurrent
to a person who has had cancer in his past”? Would you give
it in active cancer?

Micheline
Babin

Dear Micheline,

I give remedies according
to the existing symptomatology, if it points to a specific remedy but never
as a routine. In some cases you may have to repeat the potency.
The overall
strategy depends on the level of health that the particular patient
is in. There are cases of Cancer in which we have success, in others
we do not as it depends on the level of health the patient is in
and the condition of his immune system.

This knowledge of the levels of health and the
accompanying strategies for prescription that a homeopath has
to follow is a complex matter. The full information is given in
my “Complete Teachings” in video courses in different countries.

Dear Dr. Vithoulkas,

I would like to know which system
or method is curative: Sehgal’s, Sankaran’s, Vijaykar’s, Scholten’s
or the Vithoulkas System. A newcomer gets confused which to follow.

Regards
Dr Neeraj

Dear Dr Neeraj,

I do understand that a lot of ideas were spilled
out recently and were called classical homeopathy. I was the one
who coined this term and I used it with the idea that one should
follow the basic principles as enunciated by Hahnemann.

The problem with these new ideas is that
they come into contrast with the basic teachings of Hahnemann. Most
of these people are intelligent but in their effort to say something
new, they get sidetracked from the basic lines and confuse the students.

I have written my opinion about them in a
recent article in the Journal “Homeopathy”, a peer reviewed
Journal from England, UK that will be out in the April-May issue.

George Vithoulkas

Homeopathy is an attunement.
Why redose frequently with LM potencies
then? If reattunement is need so often,
the action of the remedy is not taking hold until the end of the
administration of the LM dosing. How does it work?  I am a student
at HASC,
Southern California

Thank you!!!

Debra Gangale

Dear Debra,

You will need to repeat
when the pathology is heavy. In such cases, the organism needs constant
stimulation.

George Vithoulkas

Dear Professor Vithoulkas,

Have you any experience in lowering high blood pressure with Lachesis
in elders, when that remedy is NOT the simillimum, and when the
patient (70) rightly did not accept beta-blockers? In this case,
the simillimum was Lycopodium and was already given in the past
without a real impact on his HBP (160-105 average). His only but
serious health problem is an aneurism of the aorta (5cm) for which
B-blockers were suggested by his doctor to ease the systolic pressure
on the arteries.

A. Caspi

Dear A. Caspi,

This practice is wrong
because if the indicated remedy is not Lachesis, it will not act. At
this age usually the patient is arteriosclerotic and the remedy
may not affect him, unless other measures e.g. diet-absence of salt
etc- are used as well. In such cases, knowledge of cardiology is
necessary in order to evaluate the possible dangers.

George Vithoulkas

Dear Prof. Vithoulkas,

What is your opinion about dosing
with “dry doses” (giving the dose to the patient in pellets,
granules etc.) versus “medical solutions” (dissolving
the above mentioned dry doses in water or water+alcohol
solution)?

Best regards,

Maly

This has been answered
already in the first question.

George Vithoulkas

Hi Team of Hpathy:

Congratulations!
A great addition to your team. Professor
Vithoulkas could be the one to help me with my dilemma.

I’m a 61 year old woman. My first encounter with homeopathy
was at the college of Homeopathy in Toronto. My case was repertorized
by a last year student with the supervision of her professor. I
decided to enroll in a correspondence course with the college. My
treatment with the student continued for a year, but I was never
told the name of the remedies because they felt that would be contraindicated
as I was a student in Homeopathy. Since I was not responding to
the treatment and the student left after graduation to live in Germany,
I decided to search for a Homeopathy Doctor outside the college/clinic.
I began treatment with a doctor who told me he had been a pupil
of Professor Vithoulkas. At this time I was told that my constitutional
remedy was Sepia. After a year of treatment I noticed very little
improvement. This Doctor said he was puzzled by my case and if he
could write a book about all his cases, mine would be one of the
unsuccessful ones. I left the treatment of homeopathy and decided
to treat some of the symptoms that brought me to homeopathy with
herbs, vitamins and Dr. Hulda Clark’s parasite treatment which
got rid of the pain in the first right quadrant (liver area) that
has been bothering me for years. I have emotional issues and other
health problems which I would like to address with homeopathic treatment.
I wonder if I was diagnosed correctly and would love Prof. Vithoulkas
to review my case. Do you think that I will have a chance? I have
invested faith, time and money in Homeopathy but I have left questioning
Homeopathy and the expertise of the practitioners that treated me.

Sincerely,

ER

Dear ER,

As long as the pathology
is not very deep, I am sure you have a chance if the right remedy
is found. Many times, though we try hard, the correct remedy is
not apparent or belongs to a small remedy for which we have not
enough information and therefore it is very difficult to see the
real simillimum with which to open the case.

In the courses I am
giving at the International Academy in Alonissos,
I always take live cases in front of the class. Then the case is
discussed with the whole class and a decision is finally taken.
This is the only way I can review your case and advise
you
.

See in our web site the different days of the
seminars and possibilities if you decide to come.

Dear GV:

Can you describe
any success you have had treating tinnitus homeopathically?

Many thanks,

Bonnie Rotenberg

Dear Bonnie,

There are different types and kinds of tinnitus.
We have some successes.  It is a difficult condition to be treated
homeopathically. It can be treated when it is due to biochemical
disturbances affecting the nerves but sometimes you get cases
that are very persistent especially if the acoustic nerve is affected.
To my experience a lot of such cases are due to a sclerotic condition
of the arteries and in both of these categories the result is
minimal or recurs easily.
