My son 41 years old has history of sleep apnea for last 12 years. He had consulted an ENT specialist in USA in 2007. After sleep studies & initial investigations it was diagnosed that his both the tonsils & uvula were enlarged (right tonsil was bigger than the left) & also he had nasal septum deviation. Consequently he was having mild arrhythmia during his sleep. He was experiencing headache in the mornings due to disturbed sleep & also developing frequent cold & cough. ENT specialist had suggested complete removal of both tonsils & partial tissue removal from uvula. With Acupuncture tried at that time there was no major improvement. It only slightly reduced the size of one tonsil. After returning to India (Bangalore) in 2009, his cold and cough frequency has increased & the tonsils & uvula also seem slightly more enlarged than before. Due to this he has difficulty in swallowing & breathing. For last one month his chest is congested, though he has taken two different kinds of antibiotics. We are looking for an alternative to surgical removal of tonsils and uvula, so that size of tissues can be reduced & his air passage can be widened without any surgery & major side effects. He has just started homeopathic medicine s one week ago (nux vom 30 x single dose, kali phos 30x once at morning and sambucus mother tincture 4 drops once at night time). But we request advice/guidance on this & other options. My e mail ID [email protected]
Thank you for the additional information. Both enlarged tonsils and elongated uvula are curable with homeopathy, as long as the correct remedy is taken. The homeopath may be treating your son constitutionally, and that may solve the problem. If not, there are specific remedies for elongated uvula. Nux is not listed as one of those remedies, but it may work anyway.
