Why is actual disease not diagnosed in the homeopathic system and why do we have to depend on symptoms?

Who said that homeopaths do not have to diagnose the disease? Homeopaths do need to diagnose the disease but they use this information for general management and for filtering out uncommon symptoms of the patient from the common symptoms of the disease. Homeopathy treatment is based upon symptom similarity. What you call a disease like Hypertension or diabetes is also just a name given to a collection of symptoms. So I do not see anything wron in using symptoms to treat a person. The difference in approach is that homeopaths just do not treat the disease in isolation, they try to treat the person as a whole, in his/her totality. And the treatment is individualized.
