Another book on the topic of elements from row seven, is by Dr. MargrietPlouvier-Suijs, “The Last Series”. The title and the cover quickly convey the theme of the book that came into being in 2012.

A foreword by Deborah Collins and a review of the seventh period by Dr. Jeremy Sherr lays out a scheme of what to expect from this book. As Dr. Sherr puts it, “Since the phenomenon of radioactivity was discovered in 1896, mankind has entered into the 20th century Radioactive Era.” For this reason alone, we homeopaths have to have a sound and serious education about the remedies that will help us address the crisis presented by the Radioactive Era. This book by Dr. MargrietPlouvier- Suijs generously provides us the information and education we need on this subject.

The theme of the last series of the periodic table is given in chapter one. The author has given a very clear indication of the moment in the timeline of an infant’s life when the need for an actinide remedy takes its root.

From the chapter on Radium onward, we get to read themes, symptoms, information about the cations present in the sat form of the element, the features of the salts, cases, potency chosen, analysis and follow ups. In all, 24 cases are presented. But this book is a lot more than a compilation of cases. It is a rich source of information on every aspect of the Actinides and their salts that are available as remedies. It also contains proving information for severalActinides like Uranium, Plutonium, Curium and Californium. Besides these, there is rubric information about Americum, Curium and Californium.

My prediction is that when you encounter a patient who is in need of a remedy from the last series, your reflexes will kick in and you will automatically reach for this deep and rich book by D. MargrietPlouvierSuijs, “ The Last Series”.

Happy reading.
