Dr.Vitan Gosain presented a case of Alopecia Areata in a Girl of 12 Years

The  patient is a girl of 12 years, living in Gurugram. I first happened to see this case in July 2017. At that time she had been suffering from this ailment for a few years and had taken various treatments. Alopecia areata is non-cicatricial, non- inflammatory hair loss with discoid areas of hair loss. Sites involved are scalp, beard, eyebrows, eyelashes and at times generalised. Etiology may be genetic, immunological or even stress induced. In this case, it involved eyebrows. Prior to the development of this disease the patient suffered from lice infestation.
