Written by Ramkrishna Valaki

Dr. Ramkrishna Valaki shares a case of epistaxis in a girl of 12. Weeping from pain, frightful dreams and sensitive to reprimands were among the symptoms leading to the simillimum.

Case details

    • a 12 year old girl having complaints of recurrent nasal bleeding for the last 3 years. (bleeding generally twice a week and it is aggravated in summer.)
    • She craves potatoes, onions and raw vegetables.
    • She is very scared of ghosts. Fears that ghosts will come, beat and kill her. In fear she experiences, sleeplessness and palpitation. When afraid she feels better in the light.
    • She also scared of insects and while describing the fear her voice is dusky (weeping).
    • She also very much afraid of the dark.
    • In school she gets angry when someone is poking a finger from back of the bench. In anger she desires to beat her classmate.
    • She is very sensitive to scolding. When the teacher scolds her she feels very hurt inside and desires to beat her teacher. Once a teacher hit her on her palm. At that time, she experienced burning pain in the palm, rage and a desire to beat the teacher. She narrated this incident with loud weeping.
    • She wants to become a policemen so she can beat criminals and help society.
    • Physical generals:

  • She said she feels very hurt when someone beat her. She said her palms become very red with severe burning pain and she trembles from fear. (weeping+++)
  • She said she had a lot of dream of snakes. In dreams, she see a snake is coming near to her and bites her and she is frightened and weeping.
  • By nature, she is very emotional. Weeps very easily. Angered very easily and strikes when she gets angry. Usually, she weeps after fighting with her brother and sister.

REPERTORIZATION

ANALYSIS

  • Here we can see the patient is very sensitive to beating, touching, scolding, biting (snake) and her reaction is furious anger, desire to beat against, weeping.
  • Sensitivity and reactivity are the main issues for the plant kingdom.

REFERENCE FROM DR SANKARAN PLANT BOOKS)

  • sensation of family Compositae isinjured, both at physical as well as mental level, insulted, hurt (injury perceived at mental level), fear of being approached, touched (as that aggravates the sensation of being injured), shocked, burnt or scalded, and hence the reaction of being violent, cruel, insulting, harsh (active reaction-since their perception is being injured & insulted, they also inflict that back on others).
  • There is a sensitivity seen to things which are hard and soft because hard things are perceived as causing injury, and soft things being opposite to hard, gives soothing feeling
  • Now we have to find the remedy which belong to the compositae family and which has physical general symptoms like sleep position on abdomen.
  • Here in reportorial sheet we can see that Cina covers the mental, physical and pathological symptoms. Cina has great sensitivity to touch, injury and reacts with temper tantrum, irritability, violence. So Cina should be a correct choice of remedy.
