A case of follicular thyroid carcinoma treated with homeopathy.

Woman, age 42

Presenting Complaints:

  • Lump in the front of the neck near the Adam’s apple;
  • Hoarseness and difficulty speaking in a normal voice
  • Swollen lymph nodes (especially in the neck)
  • Difficulty swallowing or breathing
  • Chronic persistent cough

METHODOLOGY USED: Constitutional prescribing associated with organ support therapy.

BRIEF OUTLINE of CIARA’S CASE:

Woman, aged 42.

First Consultation: March 18th, 2010

  • Ultrasound

Conventional Diagnosis: Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma (Homeopathy Treatment for Thyroid Cancer)

Follicular Thyroid Cancer 

Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma was diagnosed 18 months before. Past conventional treatments included TSH hormone replacement therapy and radiotherapy for 14 months. The patient was still taking TSH at time of first consultation.

Constitutional Prescribing

Repertorization indicated Calcarea carb, Lachesis and Lycopodium as the uppermost remedies. However, striking keynotes and her emotional state referred to Ignatia amara.

Ignatia LM1 was prescribed along with Thyroidinum in descending potencies: one pill of 1M, 200C and 30C on first day; 12C, 9C and 6C on second day; Turquoise remedy 6x

Miasmatic evaluation: active Sycotic miasm, latent Psoric miasm.
