Patient Name XY
Male – 67 Yrs
Profession – Retired Policeman
Consultation 24 -2 – 2020
A 63 year old male consulted me in my clinic for his skin complaints
CHIEF COMPLAINTS
He has been suffering with skin complaints since for 8 years. Dry skin, severe itching, psoriatic points are making thick plaques that are coming after scratching. He used to scratch over the eruptions and gradually his skin filled with dark pigmentation. Eventually that pigmentation stretched all over his body with a symmetrical appearance. He used topical conservative treatments including salicylates and cortisone, but without effects. Dermatologists stated it was incurable.
SKIN ERUPTIONS DESCRIPTION
Symmetrical distribution of the eruptions with dark black pigmentation. Dry eruptions, crusty, desquamation after scratching.
SENSATION
Itching and dry sensation of the skin
CONCOMITANTS
No concomitants to this complaint
MODALITIES
Itching day and night, but especially aggravates when he covers with a blanket. When fan is off, itching increases. Skin becomes dry and aggravates after taking meat diet.
AMELIORATION
He wants to lie always free of clothes except under waist in bed . He would always apply water to tolerate dryness which encourages itching. No fluctuations of symptoms with seasons.
OTHER SYMPTOMS AT THE TIME OF CASE TAKING
An abscess formed over the foot, Benign prostate gland hypertrophy.
MIND OF THE PATIENT
He is a very friendly person by nature. He shows his pigmentation at his private parts, buttocks. This also helps to analyze his nature. He is vexed with his itching.
History: He had no complaints before developing this. One day itching started at his waist region and then gradually it covered over his body and pigmentation followed. No obvious causative factors like allergens.
PHYSICAL GENERALS
Hunger – he can tolerate
Thirst – drinks moderate amounts
Food– no specific desires/ cravings or aggravations
Bowel movements – regular
Urine ;- watery colour. Due to prostatic complaint some urgency is there.
Sleep – disturbed sleep in warm conditions, otherwise good sleep. No specific dreams
Thermals – He is a hot patient.
PAST HISTORY
He suffered on and off with seasonal colds. At age 45 he contracted typhoid.
DISCUSSION
As it was a chronic skin case I determined to take his constitution along with local skin manifestations. I enquired for the causative factor, but there was no apparent element expressed by the patient.

I am now running a Health Shop dealing with Natural Products. I do have a case of a woman in the early 60s with psoriaisis, i managed to get her the medication from the company called DNA-Biopharm from South Africa. She is improving though a bit slowly. I have read much about homeopathic medications and very much interested to incorporate the modality in my practice, how can you help me?
