Abstract: Fibroid is the commonest benign solid tumour in females. The tumors are made of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue. They develop in the uterus. This is a case of a 29- year-old female who came to our clinic with the complaints of profuse menses that started two months prior.
History of present illness –
Patient was suffering from profuse bleeding during menses since 2 months. The profuse bleeding would last for 10-12 days. Menses were irregular since 2 months. She also complained of passage of clots with pain in the lower abdomen during the menses.
She also complained of weakness after her cycle gets finished. Two months ago she consulted a gynaecologist who advised her to get ultrasound. Ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis of fibroid. She started the allopathic treatment, but it did not bring relief.
Investigations – Pelvic USG scan on 16/Jan/2018
Uterus: Uterus is parous (99× 42×56mm) in size, anteverted and anteflexed shape and showing a subserosal fibroid of approx. 53×38×40mm in lower segment left side.
Past history-
Typhoid – at the age of 8 years. Took allopathic treatment for it.
Family history – No family history of any major illness in family.
Physical generals –
Appetite – adequate, takes meals two times a day, 3-4 chappatis at a time.
Thirst – adequate, 7-8 glasses per day
Aversion – milk
Desire – nothing specific
Urine – normal in frequency and quantity
Stool –D1-2, N0,
Perspiration – scanty
Thermal –chilly patient

Dreams – not remembered
Mentals-
Patient was very sensitive. She was answering very slowly. Her speech was slow. She wanted someone to be present with her, as she can’t sit alone.

Menses irregular. Earlier it was regular 30 day cycle.
Profuse bleeding during menses lasting for 10-12 days since 2 months. Previously, lasted for 5 days.
Passage of clots during menses
Leucorrhoea – 2-3 days after menses, lasts for 1-2 days, normal

Delivered a male child in 2016. She had full term normal delivery.

On 14/12/18, patient was advised to go for ultrasound again, as her physical complaints were relieved.
On 14/12/18 her USG of whole abdomen revealed –
- Normal hepatobiliary system
- Normal size kidneys
- Normal size uterus with normal adnexa
Discussion: From the repertorization, Phosphorus and Sepia came up as prominent remedies. Considering her mental generals, her physical generals like profuse bleeding during menses, irregular menses, passage of clots, pain in lower abdomen during menses Phosphorus was selected as the simillimum.
Conclusion: In this case, homeopathic Phosphorus gave miraculous relief in the cases of uterine fibroid.
