Written by Shruti Gaur

Dr. Shruti Gaur shares a case of uterine fibroid in a woman of 29. Desire for company, sensitive and weakness after menses were among the symptoms leading to the simillimum.

Abstract: Fibroid is the commonest benign solid tumour in females. The tumors are made of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue. They develop in the uterus. This is a case of a 29- year-old female who came to our clinic with the complaints of profuse menses that started two months prior.

History of present illness

Patient was suffering from profuse bleeding during menses since 2 months. The profuse bleeding would last for 10-12 days. Menses were irregular since 2 months. She also complained of passage of clots with pain in the lower abdomen during the menses.

She also complained of weakness after her cycle gets finished. Two months ago she consulted a gynaecologist who advised her to get ultrasound. Ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis of fibroid. She started the allopathic treatment, but it did not bring relief.
