Anthracinum symptoms of the homeopathy remedy from Keynotes and Red Line Symptoms by Adolph von Lippe. What are the symptoms of Anthracinum? Keynote indications and uses of Anthracinum…

COMMON NAME:

      ANTHRAX POISON.

Symptoms

It is one of the most efficacious remedies for boils, abscesses, felons, or swelling of any kind, when there are intense burning pains (Arsenicum, tarent-C., Sulphur) (N.).

Haemorrhages : black, thick, tar-like, rapidly decomposing, from any orifice (Lachesis, Lept.) (C.).

Malignancy: Terrible burning pains, with great prostration (Apis., Arsenicum, Lachesis, Phosphorus, Sulphur, tarent-C.) (B.).

THE AFFECTED PARTS BURN, AS THOUGH ON FIRE (Bl.).

WE HAVE SWELLINGS ON ALL PARTS OF THE BODY, AND ONE OF THE MOST CHARACTERISTIC CONDITIONS IS THE COLOUR OF THEM THEY ARE BLUISH, VERGING INTO BLACK (Lachesis, tarent-C.,) (N.).

Black and blue blisters (C.).

Bad effects from inhaling foul odours (C.).

Succession of boils (Mercurius, Silicea, Sulphur) (B.).

Discharge of ichorous, offensive pus (Arsenicum, Carb-Ac., Merc-c., Acid nitricum,) (A.).

Glands swollen cellular tissues oedematous and indurated (Apis, Bromium, Carb-An., Merc-I., Rhus toxicodendron, Silicea, tarent-C.) (C.).

“Erysipelas” of a malignant type (A.).

In all cases, simulating septic fever or poisoning, Arsenicum, Anthracinum and Pyrogen should be remembered. The horrible BURNING PAINS of the first two are prominent.” (N.).

Gangrenous parotitis (Apis, Arsenicum, Lachesis, tarent-C.) (C.).

SEPTIC FEVER: RAPID LOSS OF STRENGTH, SINKING PULSE, DELIRIUM AND FAINTING (Pyrog.). (A.).

Suspicious insect stings. If the swelling changes colour and red streaks from the wound map out the course of lymphatics (Lachesis, Pyrog.). (A.).

Gangrenous ulcers (Arsenicum, Carb-Ac., Carbo vegetabilis, Kali-P., Lachesis, Lycopodium, Merc-C., Nit- Ac., Phosphorus, Secale, Sulphur) (A.).

Dissecting wounds: especially if tendency is to become gangrenous (Arsenicum, Pyrog.) (A.).

Felon; the worst cases, with sloughing and terrible burning pains (Arsenicum, Carb- Ac., Lachesis). (A.).

Arsenicum sometimes fails in “carbuncles”. Then we have to resort to Anthracinum, chiefly in the thirtieth potency. It has precisely the same symptoms as Arsenicum, but to a more intense degree (P.).

AGGRAVATION:

From cold application (better from cold application-Apis, Flour- Ac., Ledum, Phosphorus, Pulsatilla, Secale).

AMELIORATION:

From hot application. (Worse from cold application: Arsenicum, Lachesis, Silicea, Syphilinum).

RELATIONSHIP:

Similar to: Arsenicum, Carb-Ac., Crotalus horridus, Echin., Lachesis, Pyrog., Rhus toxicodendron, Secale, and tarent-C.

Silicea follows it well.
