      Stone Root. Labiatae.

Inner Head

      Dull frontal headache, with frequent flying pains in the legs tearing in the knees.

Tongue etc.

      Tongue yellow along the base and centre; rough, bitter taste.

Abdomen

      Dull distress in the right hypochondrium; cutting pains in the hypogastrium; with faintness.

Stool etc.

      Constipation, stool light-colored, lumpy, with hard straining.

Diarrhoea, mucous, bloody; thin yellow matter, or watery, with violent tenesmus and sharp cutting in the bowels.

Hemorrhoids, blind or bleeding; sense of weight in rectum, itching, feeling as of sticks of sand; caused by congestive inertia of lower bowel. Also for obstinate cases.

Male Sexual Organs

      Varicocele; rectal symptoms decide.

Female Sexual Organs

      Chronic inflammation; retroflexion or retroversion; prolapsus; when there is pelvic passive congestion, haemorrhoids, etc., ovarian neuralgia, lancinating pains, worse right side.

Pruritus vulvae; prolapsus uteri or during pregnancy.

Cough

      Spits dark, tough, coagulated blood, covered with viscid mucus; previously the blood was discharged per anum.

Heart Pulse

      Irritable heart, it beats rapidly and irregularly, worse least motion or excitement; periodical spells of faintness; when reflex from pelvic and rectal symptoms (clinical).

Tissues

      Acts upon the lower portion of the bowels, causing congestive inertia. Reflexly, or by similar drug effect, veins elsewhere are affected; hence its use (like Arnica) as a vulnerary, and also its employment in varicocele.

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
