      Pansy. Franz. Violaceae.

Mind

      Great dullness of the intellect.

Low-spirited about domestic affairs.

Great indifference.

Bad, morose humor, with disinclination to talk.

Very sensitive and inclined to scold.

Sensorium

      Vertigo when walking.

Heaviness of the head when raising it, which disappears by stopping.

Inner Head

      Pressing headache, chiefly in forehead and temples.

Outer Head

      Scurfs on head, unbearable burning, most at night.

Tinea capitis, with frequent involuntary urination.

Burning stitches in scalp, especially in forehead and temples.

Impetigo of the hairy scalp and face.

Crusta lactea: with violent cough and excessive oppression; in children recently weaned.

Thick incrustations, pouring out a large quantity of thick yellow fluid, which agglutinates the hair.

Eyes

      Smarting in the eyes.

The eyelids sink down as from sleepiness.

Face

      Heat of side of face not lain on, evening in bed.

Induration of the skin of the face.

Milk-crust, burning, itching, especially at night, with discharge of viscid yellow pus.

Impetigenous exanthem on the forehead.

Tension in the integuments of the face and forehead.

Lower Face

      Pustular eruption on whole upper lip and chin; a thick, yellow, friable, semi-transparent incrustation; acne rosacea on the chin.

Tongue etc.

      Taste bitter, tongue coated with white mucus.

Mouth

      Sensation of dryness, yet with much saliva in the mouth.

Throat

      Much phlegm in the throat, causes hawking, at 11 A.M.

Eating and Drinking

      While eating, hot sweat.

Immediately after eating : dyspnoea, anxious heat.

Hypochondria

      Pressing-stinging in the diaphragm.

Abdomen

      Cutting pains in the abdomen, with urging to stool, crying and lamentations, followed by profuse discharge of flatus, with large lumps of mucus.

      Stool : soft as if minced; of mucus, with much flatus.

Urine

      Urging to urinate, with profuse discharge of urine.

Urine : offensive, smelling like cat’s urine; very turbid.

Stitches in the urethra.

Male Sexual Organs

      Involuntary seminal discharges, with vivid lewd dreams.

Suppression of gonorrhoea.

Venereal ulcers.

Swelling of the prepuce, with itching.

Stitches in penis or pressing in glans; burning in glans.

Itching stitches in the scrotum.

Induration of the testicle, after gonorrhoea.

Lungs

      Stitches in chest, on ribs, sternum and intercostal muscles.

Heart Pulse

      Oppression and stitches in the heart, on bending forward when sitting.

Anxiety about heart while lying, with beating like waves.

Neck Back

      Tension between the shoulder-blades, with cutting and tingling in the skin.

Swelling and induration of the cervical glands.

Upper Limbs

      Stitches in the shoulder-joints, elbows, forearms and fingers.

Lower Limbs

      Stitches in the patella, tibia and feet.

Pustulous and ichorous exanthema on the feet.

C. Hering
Hering got the degree of M. D. from the University of Wuezburg with highest honours. The theme of his thesis was "De'Medicina Futura" (The medicine of future). Hering left Germany for West Indies and finally arrived at Philadelphia in Jan, 1833. He established a homeopathic school at Allentown, Pennsylvania, commonly known as "Allentown Academy". Soon he became very popular as a physician. He is known as the 'Father of Homeopathy' in America.
