Symptoms
1. Spasmodic catarrhal affections of respiratory tract; esp. whooping cough; violent paroxysms follow one another so rapidly child cannot get breath; often ends in gagging, vomiting and cold sweat; sometimes with haemorrhage from nose or mouth.
2. Coughs in general ((<)) lying down and after midnight, warmth, drinking, using voice etc.; patient badly shaken up, must hold sides; coughs gen. end with free discharge of mucus.
3. Constant titillating cough beginning as soon as head touches pillow at night; esp. in children.
4. Valuable in tubercular diseases; phthisis, esp. laryngeal cases T.B. of long bones.
5. Measles with hoarse, spasmodic cough.
