Symptoms

      1. Sallow-complexioned subjects; lax fibre; “bilious” temperament. Children.

2. Depression about his disease, etc.; thinks will die.

3. Alternating complaints; e.g. winter headache alt. summer diarrhoea.

4. Difficult dentition; moaning and grinding of teeth at night; intense desire to press gums together (Phyto.); head hot and rolling from side to side (Bel., Helle.); often with diarrhoea as

5. Hepatic troubles; torpidity of liver with white or yellow- coated tongue, jaundice etc.; constant desire to rub to shake liver region with the hands.

Acute or chronic diarrhoeas; painless or with colic; various stools but gen. profuse, watery, foetid and exhausting; with tendency to haemorrhoids or prolapse of rectum; (<) early morning, continues during forenoon, followed later in the day a natural stool (Aloe); (<) eating or drinking; dentition diarrhoea of dirty water soaking through napkin; while being washed.

7. Prolapsed of rectum or of uterus esp. from over-standing or lifting, with aching and bearing down pains.

8. Intermittent or remittent fever where bilious symptoms of predominate; violent chills then intense fever with great loquacity, followed by sleep; attacks come on at 7 a.m.

9. Right-sided complains, e.g. ovarian pains.

10. Modalities; (<) hot weather; early morning.

A. Gladstone Clarke
Arthur Gladstone Clarke, a christian missionary working with the North China Mission, made good practical use of the homeopathy. He learnt as a student at MSM. He published a short introduction to the use of over 100 commonly used medicines—Decachords—first published in 1925 and still in print today.
