Introduction

Potassium sulphide (hepar sulfuris Kalinum). A dark brown mass resulting from the fusion of sulphur and potassium carbonate, consisting of the pentasulphide and the hyposulphite of potassium.

Mind.

Stupid and unconscious, with small, contracted irregular pulse, deathlike paleness and sunken face.

Face.

Redness of the face gradually came on, at first momentary and partial, afterwards persisted and general with symptoms of violent inflammation of the stomach, etc.

Mouth.

Great heat in the mouth, throat, oesophagus and stomach.

Throat.

Throat and fauces dry and reddish brown with burning pain. Constriction in the throat, (soon). The oesophagus was painful to pressure in the neck.

Stomach.

Thirst hiccough. Constant inclination to vomit, without being able to do it followed by vomiting of the contents of the stomach, and afterwards of white frothy substances mixed with some streaks of blood, and afterwards clots of blood and even purulent pieces of membrane two inches and a half long. Seeming to have been detached from the walls of the stomach. Constant efforts to evacuate up-wards and downwards. Violent vomiting, soon convulsive vomiting soon, Violent pain and heat in the stomach, and around the navel, Burning pain in the stomach.

Stool.

Copious Stools.

Respiratory Organs.

Suffocation, could not expand the chest.

Pulse.

Pulse irregular very small, almost suppressed, slower than natural.

General symptoms.

Great weakness, with paleness.

Fever.

Whole body cold. Skin and limbs extremely cold. Fever developed only after several hours, when the patient became restless, with all the symptoms of violent inflammation of the bowels. Violent fever, soon. General profuse perspiration with burning skin, very strong and rapid pulse.

Born in 1837in Westminster, Vermont. . He was an orthodox doctor who converted to homeopathy
Dr. Allen compiled the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica over the course of 10 years.
In 1881 Allen published A Critical Revision of the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.
