General [General]

Is frequently produced by something getting into the eye, therefore the first thing that ought to be done whenever the eye is affected, is to closely examine the eye, and if anything is found, the best way to remove it is with a piece of wet silk wiped lightly over the eye.

REMEDIES: Arnica, Aconite, Belladonna, Euphrasia and Conium.

Arnica [Arn]

Arnica, both externally and internally, a lotion of one part of Arnica tincture to twenty of water, and the eye to be frequently bathed with the solution, internally give ten drops twice a day.

Aconite [Acon]

Aconite, if the eye is much inflamed.

Dose. Six drops four times a day until the inflammation is subdued.

Belladonna [Bell]

Aconite and Belladonna, in alternation, it the inflammation arises from other causes.

Dose. The same as directed for Aconite.

Euphrasia [Euphr]

Euphrasia, if the preceding remedies were not sufficient to remove all the symptoms, and there remains a weeping with the eyelids closed.

Dose. Ten drops once a day until all symptoms have disappeared.

Conium [Con]

Conium, if there is the appearance of a film being drawn over the eye or shot upon it.

Dose. The same as directed for Euphrasia.
