The period of gestation is regarded in homoeopathic practice as a time specially suitable for constitutional treatment of the mother. During pregnancy there may be an outcropping of constitutional symptoms not in evidence at other times. This includes craving for or aversion to articles of diet. Hahnemann recommended Sulphur to be given to the pregnant mother to beneficially influence adverse heredity tendencies when there were no indications for anything else.
