Wilhelm Karo gives a detail description of the female symptoms of homeopathy remedy Ignatia, in his book Homeopathy in Women’s Disease, published in 1942….


      The drug is especially indicated in nervous, sanguine, extremely sensitive, peevish, excitable or hysterical women as well as in romantic young girls who easily fall in love; they bear trials meekly and readily go into spasms from mental agitation.

General Symptoms.

      All symptoms are due to or aggravated by grief. Tendency to sobbing and sighing; great irritability; the mental symptoms change often from joy to sadness. Intolerance of bright light, to loud noises. Aversion to milk, meat and warm food.

Special Symptoms.

      Menstruation too early and profuse, menstrual flow black, mixed with clots, offensive, accompanied with great anxiety and labour-like pains.

Amenorrhoea due to grief. Purulent, corrosive leucorrhoea, with increases sexual desire. Stitching pains in the womb.
