Symptoms
Especially adapted to fat, light-haired people, and to scrofulous, catarrhal and syphilitic diseases (Bt.).
Often called for in troubles of fat, fair and chubby children (D).
Complaints occurring in hot weather (Ant-C., ARs.) (A).
Cutaneous eruptions, worse in summer (Ledum) (K).
Liable to take cold in open air (Belladonna, Phosphorus, Silicea) (A).
Discharges from the nose, mouth throat, stomach, vagina, or any of the mucous membranes of a tough, stringy mucus, which sticks to the parts, and can be drawn out into strings three feet long (Bt.).
Neuralgia every day at the same hour (Arsenicum, Chin-S., Natrum muriaticum) (A)
Pains in small spots; can be covered with points of finger (Ignatia) (A).
Pain shift rapidly from one part to another (Kali-S., LAc-C., Pulsatilla) (A).
Pains appear and disappear suddenly (Belladonna, Ignatia, Map-P.) (A.)
PERIODICAL SUPRA-ORBITAL HEADACHE: AS THE HEADACHE STARTS THE SIGHT BECOMES LOST, BUT IT RETURNS AS THE HEADACHE INCREASES; IT IS MORE ON THE RIGHT SIDE (D.)
Headache : Blurred vision or blindness precedes the attack (Gelsemium, Hyoscyamus, Iris, Lac-D., Natrum muriaticum, Podophyllum, Psorinum, Sepia); must lie down aversion to light and noise (A).
Hard, painful swelling of the parotid gland (Bromium, Phytolacca) (G).
FETID DISCHARGE FROM THE NOSE (Aurum, Calcarea, Graphites, Hepar, Kali-p., Lachesis, Lycopodium, Merc-C., Acid nitricum, Sepia) (Bt.)
Pressive pain in the root of the nose (in the forehead and root of the nose – Stict.) (A).
DISCHARGE OF PLUGS OR CLINKERS FORM THE NOSE (Aurum, Graphites, Sepia) (A)
Lumps of hard, green mucus are hawked from the posterior nares (Hydrastis) (D).

AGGRAVATION:
Agg. Of the cough from the least morsel of food or drink (Bg.)
True membranous croup (Bt.)
Chronic bronchitis, with tough, stringy expectoration (Bt.).
Croup: hoarse, metallic, with expectoration of tough mucus, or fibro-elastic casts in the morning (A.)
There is great swelling of the tonsils and ulcers which secrete a purulent discharge; there are diseased follicles which exude a caseous matter; the coating of the tongue is yellow at the base; the discharge is ropy, tenacious and stringy (D.).
Oedematous, bladder-like appearance of the uvula; much swelling, but little redness (Rhus.) (A.)
Diphtheria : pseudo-membranous deposit, firm, pearly, fibrinous, prone to extend downwards to the larynx and trachea (Lac-C.; reverse of Bromium) (A.).
Tongue coated with a thick yellow felt (Ant-C., Bryonia, Chelidonium, Kali-S., Mercurius, Merc-I-F., Natrum phos., Nux-M., Pulsatilla, Rhus-t., Sepia, Spigelia, Stann., Sulphur) (Bt.).

Tongue smooth, red and cracked (N.).
Aphthous stomatitis (Borax, Kali-M.) (R.)

Bitter vomiting mixed with mucus, renewed by every attempt to eat or drink (D.).
Fullness in the stomach even after eating a small quantity (Lycopodium, Nux-M.), worse from meat (D.).

Loss of appetite; weight in the pit of the stomach; flatulence, worse soon after eating (Nux-M., Nux vomica) (A.).
VOMITING OF ROPY MUCUS AND BLOOD; ROUND ULCER OF THE STOMACH (A.).
Sore spot in the stomach, or food lies like a load (B.).
In chronic intestinal ulceration, it vies with Mercury (Hg.).
Dull pains in the right hypochondrium, especially when limited to a small spot, with whitish stools (Hg.).
Chronic dysentery (Aloe, Mercurius, Sulphur).
Dysenteric stools with gnawing at navel and ineffectual straining (R.).
Brown, watery and frothy diarrhoea of gelatinous stools occurring in the morning. (D.).
Diarrhoea alternating with rheumatism (Cimic., Dulcamara) (K.).
Periodic dysentery coming on in the spring (R.)
Sexual desire absent in fleshy people (A.).
Jelly-like discharge from the urethra (K.).
Chancres on the penis with elevated margins and cheesy base (Hepar) (K.)
Prolapsus uteri, seemingly in hot weather (A.).
Menses too soon (G.).
Leucorrhoea, ropy, tough discharge, which may be drawn out in long strings (N.).
A drop remains after urinating (b.)
Deep red urine (Bt.).
Complete suppression of urine, with dull pains in the small of the back (Bt.).
Rheumatism alternating with gastric symptoms; one appearing in the fall and the other in the spring (A.).
Rheumatism and dysentery alternate (Abrotanum) (A).
Sciatica, relieved by flexing the leg (B.).
Pains along border of foot (B.).
Solid eruption, like measles, over the whole body (Bt.).
Large ulcers, with dark centre, and over-hanging edges (Bt.).
Dryness of the skin, with itching of the whole body (Graphites, Sulphur) (G).

Frequent micturition (Cantharis, Nux vomica) (C).
Burning pain in the fossa navicularis and bulbus urethra (R.)
Prostatic fluid escapes at stool (Nux vomica, Selenium, Sepia, Sulphur)(C).
Pain in the coccyx while sitting (C.)
Scanty urine, with copious whitish or mucous deposit (C.).
AGGRAVATION:
In heat of summer; in hot weather; in the morning; during spring; in the open air; from undressing; from beer; and suppressed catarrh.
AMELIORATION:
Skin symptoms are better in cold weather (reverse of Alumina and Petroleum); from heat; and motion.
RELATIONSHIP:
Compare Bromium, Hepar and Iodium in croupy affections.
Ant-T. follows well in catarrhal affections and skin diseases.
