The Good News and the Bad

India’s economy is growing, which invites some industries that require vigilance.

India is the 9th fastest growing nation in the world, whose GDP grew 7.9 percent in January-March from a year earlier. Accordingly, one may expect businesses to expand their presence there including Pharma. The bad news is that the Pharmaceutical industry has historically used its wealth and influence to suppress homeopathy. Among the strategies it uses are: (1) corrupting government officials (2) filing nuisance law suits (3) spreading lies in the press (4) defunding homeopathy hospitals and schools (5) instigating laws to inhibit the practice of homeopathy. When Pharma expands its presence in India, we can expect this same behavior. In the United States, Pharma has donated up to $200,000 each to individual senators and congressmen. Drug companies will often spend half-a- million dollars in lobbying congress. It’s not hard to imagine how that could corrupt legislators in any country.

Homeopathy is crucial to medical care in India where it serves so many people, including millions of the poor. Also, it is often the only path to health for those with chronic illnesses. As a matter of public health, it must be protected as an important national resource.  I would like to see legislators in India pass laws to severely punish any person or organization that conspires to undermine homeopathy, defames it or tries to restrain its practice. The laws should have criminal penalties, since civil fines are useless against Pharma’s deep pockets.

In a country with over 224,000 homoeopathy doctors, 7856 government dispensaries and 207 government hospitals which routinely cure life threatening ailments, anyone who claims homeopathy is placebo is either a fool or a liar — and most likely a Pharma surrogate. Pharma operates surreptitiously through their paid stooges, so we must be vigilant for any sign of their tricks. The government needs to send a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated.

In this issue:

We have a special presentation from the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (IACH), founded by Prof. George Vithoulkas. The Academy, located on Alonissos, is dedicated to teaching classical homeopathy to doctors and health practitioners. IACH has trained over 15,000 doctors and practitioners from 62 countries.  These are really fine, methodical case presentations.

  • Hi!
Reading your edi is like a confirmation of my sanity …. there are others like me who see and sense the plots of Big Pharma. People usually think I’m either nuts or joking when I propagate homeopathy for serious diseases.
This times collection has lots of things I had to look up. Thanks for the spoon feeding 🙂

    • Greetings Ayesha,

It’s difficult being sane in an insane world. Hang onto your perceptions, they’re absolutely correct!
