Making a Difference

An extraordinary woman, an extraordinary cause

This month we have a presentation from the Abha Light College of Natural Medicine, part of the Abha Light Foundation. Its founder and director, Homeopath Didi Ananda Ruchira is our Hot Seat interview.  A homeopath and Ananda Marga nun, she has done extraordinary work in Africa, treating HIV, Malaria, TB and more.

With few resources, she had to be very creative, discovering new methods, medicines and protocols. She founded permanent and mobile clinics and finally a school, to extend the reach of homeopathy. Her work has also expanded our knowledge of Malaria prevention and treatment. She is not the first, nor will she be the last homeopath to do this kind of work. Her commitment and accomplishments however, so very much with so little, deserve our appreciation, acknowledgement and assistance.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of Dr. Hahnemann’s Organon. To mark that occasion we have articles from two great “keepers of the flame”, Dr. David Little and Dr. Luc De Schepper. They show us crucial mistakes that homeopaths commonly make in interpreting Hahnemann’s ideas. These articles are a must read for every student and homeopath.

Dr. Fernando Daro Francois-Flores who last year gave us that marvelous history of homeopathy in Mexico, updates us on homeopathy organizations, schools, hospitals, libraries, journals and events in Mexico.

We have cases from Claire Niala, Julius M. Wambua, Didi Ananda Ruchira, Wendy Howard (Apple Anaphylaxis) and Elaine Lewis.  Want to learn how to treat 200 people in one day? See Rachel Mutinda’s “Mobile Clinics”.  Stephen Smith explains how he uses lab tests in treating acutes. Wondering how the volcano in Iceland may affect us? Check out Carolina Pollack’s article on Volcano remedies.

V.D. Kaviraj, the Plant Doctor is back and answering questions. Be sure to see his column.  Have you tried your hand at Elaine’s famous quiz? Let me recommend the quiz as an excellent way to develop your skills. See Tips & Secrets, the new Crossword (based on the Organon), Hahnemann discussing his early life, the latest research into cancer, and much, more.
