Raise Your Voice!

Homeopathy once had grand patrons, like Baron Rothschild, Queen Mary and King George VI, who even named his horse Hypericum. Homeopath Sir John Weir was Physician Royal to six monarchs: Edward VII, George V , Edward VIII, George VI, Elizabeth II, King Gustav V of Sweden and King Haakon VII of Norway. Good work if you can get it! But times have changed….

“The Royal London Homeopathic Hospital Needs Your Support”. So begins a letter written by Dr. Peter Fisher, Homeopath to Her Majesty, the Queen. There has been an insidious effort by the foes of homeopathy to deny funding for this and other homeopathic hospitals in England. Immediate action is needed to save them. But this story is best told by homeopath Carol Boyce, an informed and passionate spokesperson for homeopathy and this cause:

“The Royal London Homeopathic Hospital (RLHH), the visible presence of homeopathy across the world for 150 years, is under threat of closure with other UK homeopathic hospitals. In an orchestrated campaign using flawed science, ridicule, and fear tactics, a group of UK doctors and anti-CAM journalists are waging a media campaign, calling for the removal of funding for an ‘ineffective’, ‘implausible’ therapy.

If the RLHH is closed because Homeopathy has been found to be “INEFFECTIVE”, it will have repercussions in all corners of the homeopathic world. A major public expression of support for Homeopathy is essential, both to save these hospitals, and to keep Homeopathy as an integral part of the NHS.”

“There are two things you can do immediately to help:

1. If you are a UK resident, tell your MP to sign Early Day Motion 1240 in support of NHS Homoeopathic Hospitals. Two hundred MP’s must sign this motion by July 6th. There is a sample letter in this journal asking MP’s to sign EDM 1240.

Send this to your MP’s vial email or post.

2. If you are a British citizen (including ex-pats) or you are currently resident in the UK-, there is a petition YOU can sign. Here is the link

The closing date for that is July 12th. (The petition will send you an email to confirm your signature – if you don’t return the link your signature will not be included.)”

I echo Ms. Boyce’s sentiment’s. In the year 1900, there were a hundred homeopathic hospitals in the United States. Today there are none. Being right is not enough, you must give voice to your opinion!
