Some other common features of acids are their increased sexual appetite and the problems resulting from that; Anxiety and irritability, which is more marked in mineral acids than acids derived from plant sources; Hypersensitiveness esp., to noise; Dullness and sluggishness, with difficulty in comprehending; Forgetfulness, which is again more marked in mineral acids; Indisposition to talk and desire to remain silent.
On the physical plane the acids show following common characters:
(1.) Extreme prostration, with aversion to do any physical or mental work.
(2.) Paralytic conditions, esp. with spinal irritation.
(3.) Irritation of mucous membranes leading to varied complaints.
(4.) Stitching pains, with sense of constriction.
(5.) Gangrenous and ulcerative conditions.
(6.) Hoarseness, and inflammatory conditions of lungs.
(7.) Hemorrhagic tendency. All acids tend to check hemorrhages.
(8.) Discharges are usually thin, dark, and foul smelling.
(9.) Gouty conditions, with inflammation of synovial membranes.
(10.) Anemic conditions.
(11.) Dryness of mucus membranes, in spite of profuse mucus discharge.
(12.) Increased sexual desire.
