Sulphuric acid

Sulphuric acid is frequently needed in all forms of stomatitis ulcerosa, especially in the apthae of children suffering from exhausting diseases. General weakness, apthous patches, white or yellowish, which invade the whole buccal cavity; intense burning pain in them which is aggravated by cold water and relieved by dilute alcoholic spirits. In a severe form of thrush it is indispensable.

Acetic Acidum in Diabetes

Copious watery urine. It has cured diabetes, with sugar in the urine or without, where there is great thirst, weakness, pallor and loss of flesh.

Abrotanum

The changing of one so-called disease into another always calls attention to Abrotanum. Inflammation of the parotid (mumps) changing to testis or mammae is generally cured by Carbo vegetabilis or Pulsatilla, but Abrotanum has cured when these remedies have failed.

Mother’s Milk

When a mother has lost her infant and it is necessary to dry up the milk, Lac caninum and Pulsatilla are the best remedies for this purpose, when no symptoms are present.

Vomiting After Milk in Infants

When the derangement does not proceed from any faultiness in the milk, Aethusa Cyanapium is deserving of special notice. One globule of this remedy may be given morning and evening for the first two days: then daily, or only every other day, according to circumstances ; lengthening the intervals as the irritability of stomach diminishes. Arsenicum, Bryonia Cuprum may answer better in some rarer instances.

Cuba

Homoeopathy was introduced into Havana about 1842 by Francisco de P. Escopet, who came from Spain at that time. The earliest practitioner of the school in Santiago de Cuba was Joaquin Bramon, who came from Barcelona in Spain in 1845.

Glonoine has cured some cases of cerebrospinal meningitis when the pains come from the spine up through the neck into the occiput with the same throbbing, pulsating pains as in the head.

Conium has the nervous night cough of old people . This condition combines “a dry hacking cough,” ” spurting of the urine,” and ” sleeplessness.” The cause is a dry spot in the larynx which is aggravated at night.

Coffea is even better than Pulsatilla for toothache which is intolerable, and can only be endured by holding ice water in mouth.

Sinusitis

Hekla Lava : Sinus after mastoid operation. 30C

Hepar-Sulphuris: Nose blocked and patient feels that, he will be relieved of the suffering if secretion commence. Offensive discharge, like old cheese. 1X will often start secretions and profuse drainage in stuffy colds. < from dry cold wind > in damp weather.

Kali Iodatum : Frontal sinuses. Fullness in nose. Great relief from walking 6C 30C

Kali Sulphuricum : Maxillary sinuses. Kali sulph is like a Pulsatilla patient, weepy, irritable, upset by hot room and hot. < stooping. >> in open air. Discharges thick, yellowish.

*Both Kali iod and Kali sulph are < heat and extremely irritable. 6x 30C

Two Traumatic Injury Remedies

Actea racemosa – Straining and soreness of muscles of entire body, as in skating, rowing, running, football, etc.

Symphytum – pain is jagging, pricking, as if the end of the bone is sticking into flesh. To facilitate the union of fractured bone.

Sea-Sickness

Opium has given the quickest relief, and may be repeated whenever the symptoms increase. In some cases Cocculus is better. Nux vomica will often be of service, especially if the stomach was disordered before going on board, or is so by the manner of living on board-ship. Bryonia is serviceable for that giddy, unsteady feeling often experienced on shore by those who have recently come from a voyage.

Warning on Aconitum

In hypertrophy of the heart, Aconite is indicated by numbness and tingling in the fingers. It is in uncomplicated hypertrophy of the heart only that you should give this remedy. In hypertrophy from valvular disease it may do great harm.

Opium in Alcoholism

With respect to the cure of the bodily mania for drinking, there is no doubt that Poppy-juice {Opium) stands at the head of all the remedies of this class. The results of the provings of this very vigorous substance give us an image of this disease with respect to both the body and to the soul, such as no other medicine affords. With incipient drinkers the repeated use of this remedy alone will give great results, as in such cases it is sufficient of itself to extinguish not only the ill effects of intoxication, but also to induce a sort of repugnance to spirituous liquors in general.

In Sepia the eyelids pain in the morning when awaking, as if they were too heavy, and as if he could not keep them open. (Very important in stiffness of eyelids.)

Four Wonderful Remedy Tips from Dr. Kent

Agnus Castus

This wonderful remedy is often overlooked. It should come to mind for old sufferers who are broken from sexual excesses and secret vice. The pale sickly and sad mortals who lament over their misspent life. It is good for both sexes.

Allium cepa

Allium cepa is a wonderful remedy in whooping cough, and when it is indicated the child will often have indigestion, vomiting and flatulency; will pass offensive flatus, will be doubled up with colic.

Aconite in Neuritis

Aconite is a wonderful remedy for neuritis in plethoric persons. Numbness along the course of the nerves, from cold, from exposure. Numbness and tingling, along the course of the nerves, especially those that run close to the surface. Nervous excitability, excessive restlessness.

Carbo Veg

Carbo Veg is a wonderful remedy in septic conditions-blood poisoning, especially after surgical operations and after shock. It is a useful remedy in septic conditions; in scarlet fever; in any disease which takes on a sluggish form, with purplish and mottled appearance of the skin.

Dr. William K. Freeman

The pioneer of homoeopathy in North Carolina was Dr. William K. Freeman, who introduced it in Wilmington, in 1850. He graduated from the Charleston Medical School in 1847. In 1848 he removed to Wilmington, where he publicly announced his belief in the doctrines of Hahnemann. His action at that particular time required great moral courage; there was no homoeopathic practitioner south of Virginia, and for twenty years he was the only one in the whole state of North Carolina. He died February, 1879.

Intercostal Myalgia

Intercostal myalgia attributed to coxsackie b virus; severe pain in intercostal spaces felt more on the back; worse deep breathing,  movement of thorax, better resting the parts and pressure.
