February 2015 Tips & Secrets

It’s Enough to Make You Sick

The U.S. does not have universal health care, and the number one cause of bankruptcies in the U.S. is unpaid medical bills. Even people with health insurance can’t afford the bills. Nearly 10 million adults with health-insurance coverage will still be unable to pay their medical bills. (Data analyzed from the U.S. Census, Centers for Disease Control, the federal court system and the Commonwealth Fund.)

Medical Insurance for Homeopathy

In the UAE Homeopathy is now being covered by some major insurance providers. Insurance providers Oman Insurance, BUPA, NexCare and Emity cover homeopathic treatment. In the UAE there are a total of 51 registered homeopaths — 45 in Dubai and six in Abu Dhabi.

Oophoritis

Belladonna is in many respects the most important remedy in this disease. It is particularly adapted to acute oophoritis attended with severe pain. Experience has likewise satisfied us that Belladonna is useful in the chronic form, provided we do not expect any immediate result.

Surgical operations with much cutting

If afterwards with prostration, coldness, oozing blood, you will think of Carbo veg, but it will not help. The situation needs Strontium Carb. Dr. Kent says “Strontium carb is the Carbo veg of the surgeon.”

Conium in Eye Problems

Conium is the first remedy when photophobia or pain is excessive and out of all proportion to the amount of trouble. The nerves are hyper esthetic, their terminal filaments (in the cornea) are exposed by superficial abrasion. One of the principal remedies for keratitis (ulcers, pustules) if the inflammation is superficial, involving only the epithelial layer, and caused by cold, trauma or scrofula.

John L. Moffat, MD – Homoeopathic Therapeutics in Ophthalmology

Sambucus Nigra

When a nursing child has blocked nose and must let go of nipple – cannot breathe. Also, child awakes suddenly nearly suffocating, sits up, turns blue, cannot exhale (Meph). Profuse sweat accompanies many affections.

Boericke -M.M.

Icy Col d Pains

Arsenicum has burning pains, but Saccharum lactis has icy cold pains. Swan regards cold pains as a keynote. One such sensation is extreme cold passing in a fine line from center of pubes to a point 2-3 inches above.

Mammary tumor

A 48 yr old woman had a growing tumor about the size of a plum in left breast, result of an injury six months before. It was hard, movable and painless, except that deep pressure caused shooting pains. She was highly excitable and immoderate excitement threw her almost into spasms. Under the use of Conium the tumor disappeared in three months as well as the extreme nervousness.

Croup

Hahnemann himself regards Spongia as the main remedy in croup and directs to resort now and then to an intermediate dose of Aconite or Hepar. He does not consider Spongia indicated until the respiration has become embarrassed and

exudation has commenced. In the first night, it may not matter much which of these remedies is given in alternation with Aconite. It is certain that catarrhal croup will be modified by a few doses of Aconite within twelve hours.

Sphere of Action of Bacillinum

When I am called upon to treat a patient suffering from an obstruction of the bronchial tubes occasioned by mucus, which is frequently thick and opaque and puriform (pus-like), an obstruction extending to the delicate bronchial ramification, and causing oppression more frequently than cough, I turn my thoughts at once to Bacillinum. It is a drug for old people, or, at any rate, for those whose lungs are old, for those chronically catarrhal, or whose pulmonary circulation is enfeebled without regard to the age of the subject, for those who have dyspnoea, and who cough with difficulty from inaction of the respiratory ducts, for the humid asthmatic, the bronchorrheal who feel suffocated at night and finally for those who, after taking cold, are straightway attacked with pulmonary congestion. Here, I believe, is the exact sphere of action of Bacillinum as a homoeopathic remedy.

Evidence Based Medicince?

The package containing GlaxoSmithKline’s influenza vaccine (Flulaval ) states:

…there have been no controlled trials adequately demonstrating a decrease in influenza disease after vaccination with FLULAVAL. The package also states that the vaccine contains “Thimerosol mercury.”

Doctors in the U.S. are aggressively pushing this vaccine which contains a neurotoxin and has never been proven to work.

Melilotis

Tincture or 1x is the remedy for headaches or neuralgias that drive the patient wild so that he wants to bump his head against the floor or wall. It works quickly. Two or three doses in half an hour will do all than be expected.

Three Tips from Dr. E.A. Farington

Sea Sickness

Another use you may make of Theridion is in the sea sickness of nervous women. They shut their eyes to get rid of the motion of the vessel, and they grow deathly sick.

Grindelia robusta

Grindelia robusta is a wonderful remedy by reason of its action on the pneumogastric nerves. It seems to produce a paresis of those nerves, so that when the patient drops off to sleep he stops breathing and, of course, is aroused by the

desire for oxygen. You see that it is allied here to Lachesis and Gelesmium.

Chamomilla vs Mag carb

Chamomilla resembles Magnesia carb. in many cases, particularly in diseases of children. In both remedies anxiety and restlessness are prominent. Both remedies have relief from moving about, and both have griping pains before stool, and both have irregularity in feeding as a cause of the illness. But in Chamomllla there is a yellowish-green stool, looking like chopped eggs.

Veterinary Tips

Arnica 30 if administered to old dogs, tends to keep them young (twice weekly doses).

A good and effective remedy for colic in cattle and calves is Colchicum.

Diarrhea in calves calls for Podophyllum, which works wonders if parasites are not the cause. Diarrrhea with fever calls for Pyrogenium

For Actinomycosis (lumpy jaw) in cattle, homeopathy has a specific remedy in Kali iodatum 3x

Ignatia

The chief characteristic of Ignatia is the unexpectedness of its conditions of amelioration and aggravation. When they are in sorrow they want to be left alone. When they have a chill they have thirst. While with fever they have none, but want to be covered up warmly. There is great sensitiveness of the surface, which instead of being aggravated by contact and by pressure, is relieved by it. This contradiction of symptoms, the so-called “contrariness,” is a general characteristic of Ignatia both mentally and physically.

Cezarina Tuchel reflects on Homeopathy in Romania

“Taking everything in account, we can state that Romanian homeopathy was born out of love, with much pain and suffering, and its development has been one of heroic professional efforts. There is no exaggeration in my statement. Those of us that are here today can well remember the efforts, the sacrifices, the perseverance in copying a book, or when we came in half frozen trains just to be together for a few hours, at the monthly meetings….. sitting there with hats and gloves on, listening to the lectures delivered in the crisp and cold winter air, lectures prepared at home, regardless of the inhuman temperatures to be withstood. This was the way Romanian homeopathy followed its way through the personal experience of each one of us.”

A Thirsty Pulsatilla

Though Pulsatilla symptoms generally are not attended by thirst, yet sometimes thirst is present when the hot stage is strongly marked. Rukert has had excellent success in puerperal fever and other fevers when thirst was present, the mass of the

symptoms having indicated Pulsatilla.

Glanders (Farcy)* in Horses

The sovereign remedy for Glanders (Farcy) is Kali Bichromicum. I have treated a number of horses who have been at regular work since their illness.

*Glanders (Farcy) is an infectious disease that occurs primarily in horses, mules, and donkeys. Signs include formation of nodular lesions in the lungs and ulceration of the mucous membranes in the upper respiratory tract.

Acne Tips from Dr. W.A. Dewey

Sulphur is perhaps the remedy most often indicated in this affection, especially if chronic. Great aggravation from water is the leading characteristic to Sulphur in skin affections. The acne punctata is the variety corresponding most nearly to Sulphur. (Simple forms yield to Belladonna or Pulsatilla.

Arsenicum iodatum / Sulphur iodatum – Acne rosacea often yields to one of these.

Sanguinaria is useful especially in women with scanty menses and irregular circulation of blood. Other remedies for acne dependent on sexual disturbances of

women are Calcarea carbonica and Aurum muriaticum natronatrum.

Kali bromatum produces acne on the face, neck and shoulders. Especially adapted to the acne simplex and acne indurate.

Thuja is one of our best remedies for acne facialis.

Calcarea picrata – It has been found one of the best remedies.

Antimonium crudum – Small red pimples on face, thirst and white-coated tongue.

Antimonium tartaricum – Obstinate cases, with tendency to pustulation, are curable with this remedy.
