Early Anti- Vaccine Campaigner

Homeopath Dr. Harold Fergie Woods (1883-1961) was a Board Member for the The National and International Anti Vaccination League in 1929 and 1952, and a member of The London Society for the Abolition of Compulsory Vaccination.

Here’s a tip from Dr. Woods:  I have often noticed that when a remedy has a certain very striking symptom or modality, it will often cure the exact opposite of that symptom or modality. For example, Lycopodium, which has very strongly “desires for sweets,” will often cure when there is a strong aversion to or aggravation from sweets.

Tips from the Indian Homeopathic Review Vol 22 – 1913

  1. The quickest way to stop nose-bleed is to snuff up a little Hamamelis or as it is more popularly known, Witch Hazel.
  2. If you have had a broken bone and suffer more or less pain at the break even though years have passed since the healing, take Symphytum 3 occasionally and gently rub a little of the Symphytum mother tincture on the painful area. This has given relief to many sufferers.
  3. Kali mur 6x, tablets, are a fine remedy for all bronchial coughs, “colds on the chest,” etc.
  4. Kali phos. 3X, tablets, are a great remedy for chronic catarrh or offensive discharges. It is also a good thing for “neurasthenics.”
  5. Merc, cor. comes in for suppression of urine in albuminuria and otber cases where the urine is thickly clouded with filaments and dark flesh-like pieces of mucus. The great tenesmus of the bladder, hot burning, offensive urine, great torture in passing the mine, are additional points for Merc. cor.

Keynotes and Characteristics – H. C. Allen, M.D.

Eruptive Fevers

The eruptive fevers include small-pox, measles, scarlet fever and chicken-pox.   It is important to remember that the eruption of chicken-pox breaks out during the first day  of sickness; scarlet fever during the second day; small-pox during  the third, while the eruption of measles does not make its appearance until the fourth day of the sickness.  It will also aid in determining the nature of the disease; if it is remembered that small-pox begins with a very severe chill; that scarlet fever is usually accompanied by a sore throat, and that a cough is always a prominent symptom in measles. It will be of advantage to note that the eruption of small-pox appears first about the mouth and chin; that of chicken-pox is first seen upon the body and limbs; that of measles behind the ears and on the face; and that the first appearance of the scarlet fever eruption is upon the neck and chest.

Quats are used as antiseptics in toothpastes, mouthwashes, lozenges, nasal sprays, eye drops, shampoos, lotions, intravaginal spermicidal sponges and household cleaners, to name a few.
