Hi Dr. Khalsa,
How long does it take to heal/soften a urethral stricture using remedies, and how will I know it’s healed? The urethra itself is the size of a 5 fr catheter; the stricture is the size of a 3.5 fr catheter. Dosing for past 2 weeks: Staphisagria 30c 4 daily, except on the days I give Arnica 200c, which I give every 5-7 days (4 pellets)- given separately from other remedies. I put Thiosinominum 6x 4 pellets into oral syringe with 5 tablets of Bioplasma (which I give to help maintain his appetite and overall status.
Bobo is a 2.5 year old male cat who apparently suffered a penetrating injury to his rear end that left a puncture wound in his urethra. Since that time, urine started collecting in his abdomen, eventually creating an exit tract through a small area of dying skin on abdomen near his penis. It wasn’t until after this occurrence with subsequent leaking out of urine from abdomen that I became aware there was a problem, as he did not act or appear ill, and the original injury wound was completely healed over.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Dr. Deva Khalsa : Thiosinaminum is a great choice for a remedy. With all that is going on, the last thing he needs is a bladder infection. I would do a culture and sensitivity on the urine and actually get him on the correct antibiotic or all your hard work may be in vain. With repeated cultures and sensitivities I have found, that in cats, remedies may alleviate the symptoms yet a chronic infection can remain.
Dear Dr. Khalsa,
I took our 6 month old golden doodles in for their 3rd series of puppy vaccines. I have been spreading them out and only did them because I have to in order to have them trained). However, they also gave the rabies vaccine along with it. I KNEW better but I was too worried about how nervous they were that it totally did not register to me until later what had happened.
During the next 24 hours, our girl dog lost control of her bladder 3 times while she was sleeping. She became soaking wet and a huge puddle on the floor. She was not peeing- she just lost control of her bladder. This was 3 weeks ago and it is still happening. I had given her Thuja 30 right before the vaccine and I gave it to her that night. I have also given it to her off and on over the 3 weeks.
She has also gotten more aggressive/ fearful around new people; even kids. And she has tried to bite my kids several times while they were petting her- she never did that before. Do you have any recommendations for what to do?
Dr. Deva Khalsa: Lachesis 200c every day for 10 days. Start with this one first. It is the remedy of choice for the Rabies Vaccine Miasm. Other potential remedies are Nux vom and Causticum.
Dear Dr. Khalsa,
My very sweet friendly Brussels Griffon dog has a grapefruit sized lipoma on his left flank. I don’t want to risk surgery at his age. He still runs with excitement and good energy when I let him out. Hungry all the time, pee’s frequently. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
My 6 year old loving Shitzu constantly pees in the house even though I take him out about 8 times a day. I think it is an attitude problem rather than an infection, he had been re-homed three times before I adopted him 10 months ago.
Again, thank you very much for any suggestion.

Dr. Deva Khalsa: Lipoma’s are hard to treat with homeoapathy. The indicated remedy is Baryta carb but I do not know if it will do much at all. I would check his thyroid and sometime large doses of Bovine Cartilage or Shark Cartilage will help. Also, there is Ramaekers Professional Veterinary Immune Formula, only available on the web on the Deserving Pets site.
Yes, your Shizu likely has an attitude problem or more correctly, he thinks a house is OK to be a bathroom. The only thing you can really do is crate him and let him out to go, restrict the area he can go to in the house and get all the smells of his urine out which is easier said than done.
Dear Dr. Khalsa,
We have a lovely small Terrier Bitch 5 years old. When she gets excited she has trouble breathing. It’s like a very brief asthmatic attack but it seems to occur like a type of Apnea at the top of the throat. Do you have any ideas about this?
Dr. Deva Khalsa : Collapsing trachea. Your vacuum cleaner hose has rings around it so when you turn it on the pressure does not collapse the hose. The trachea has rings. In some small dogs they are incomplete or one may be missing. So when they change their rate of respiration the flow of air gets faster and this collapses the trachea into itself, just a little bit. Often they need to do a quick gagging cough or two to correct the issue.
Dear Dr. Khalsa,
I am trying to put my heifer into estrus. I believe that she’s in a silent Heat. I was told that you can use Sepia 200 to regulate estrus in cows but I’m not sure the size of the dose or for how long I should use it to put her into estrus. I live in the U.S.

Dr. Deva Khalsa: Pulsatilla 30c or 100c. Twice a day for the 30c for one month, or once a day for the 100c for two weeks or so.
Hello Dr. Khalsa,
Is there a remedy for ticks and fleas? I have a nine year old black male Labrador who is otherwise healthy. I have tried several shampoos but he got only temporary relief.
Dr. Deva Khalsa: Wish there was. Unfortunately no.
Editor’s Note: While there is no specific homeopathic remedy for ticks and fleas, there are non-toxic repellents. Here are just a few
Hello Dr. Khalsa,
I have a 9 pound 6 year old female feline named Mary Alice. She has a circular hard but palpable 1/2 to 2/3 inch tumor on her underside. The growth has been there for about 2 years. This of course is sizeable for a 9 pound cat. She does not have any symptoms such as weight loss, failure to eat, sores, etc. with the exception of vomiting with the change of new food or when grass is not available. I grow her a variety of organic grasses of which she freely eats. She is an inside only feline. She was adopted from a local rescue where the regular doses of vaccinations were given before adoption. She eats the best of organic, GMO free, gf, soy free, etc.. She is affectionate on her terms.

Dr. Deva Khalsa: She needs to go to the vet and get a fine needle aspirate of this, which is very easy to do. It is very important to know what one is working with.
Dear Dr. Khalsa,
My 4 yr old mixed breed dog is small (about 6 kg) and presented since a puppy neurological signs such as too frequent blinking and when left in arms or lap would gently squirm and couldn’t be still. Chronically undernourished up to 2.5 years. Near her 3rd year she began presenting epilepsy, violent seizures, showing a regularity of being in series of about 8 in one or day and recurring about every 3 weeks. Once the series would end she’d have a day or two being hyper and much hunger and whining. Was treated with Belladona without results, then Cal. Carb. also without results, then with Silicea about three of four months ago and apparently began to get positive results, the seizures beginning to occur more distanced from one another.
After seizures would come a period of deep physical depression, being adynamic and apparently repeating again feeling cool as she would coil even when the temperature would be warm; this same symptom occurred before and was one of the cues to try Silicea, along with her personality and her “runtiness”, but now more accentuated, and the fact that at her age she had accumulated a lot of dark teeth tar. Apparently Silicea stopped working on her.
Since a few days ago she began losing weight and being more adynamic.
Dr. Deva Khalsa: Quite honestly, this is a case that needs a consult, with in-depth questions and not some quick advice. I would research Aurum metallicum as a potential remedy.
