The Animal is Also Just a Human

I’ve been working for more than 10 years now in the homeopathic Cancer Clinic in St.Croce and mainly treat cancer patients by homeopathy. As many patients are also pet owners, I’m often asked to treat their animals ill with cancer. I felt somewhat overextended in the beginning, when the animals could not answer my questions, but soon learned that such an animal is also just a human. They show the same peculiarities, behavior pattern, fears, eating preferences etc. like humans.

To find a homeopathic remedy, all peculiarities and striking symptoms are to be elaborated. Therefore, a meticulous questioning of the pet owner is of utmost importance. In homeopathy the peculiar and striking symptoms have to be worked out, followed by the mind symptoms (fears, character traits etc.) and physical general symptoms like eating preferences, digestion, temperature, behavior.

Local signs on the skin, or other local ailments are usually not much considered to find a deep acting remedy. But this is different in cancer patients, as the local signs of the tumor, its location, color, or texture can help in finding the remedy.

Moreover, the homeopath has to look for the reason for the development of cancer, which might have appeared after injuries, after sterilization, after vaccinations or suppressed skin eruptions, which weakens the immune system and makes the organism susceptible to malignant diseases.

It can be difficult to find mental symptoms of animals, as they can’t tell their symptoms by themselves. But fortunately, their owners can often describe them in detail, as if the animal were talking themselves.

Below I’m going to describe three cases, to demonstrate my positive experiences in the homeopathic treatment of cancer in animals.

Case 1: A Pekingese mongrel with breast cancer

My wife’s sister took a very pitiable dog from the animal shelter. It was a Pekingese mongrel which was already almost 10 years old and had a tumor the size of a plum at the mammary gland. Nobody wanted to have this animal, but she immediately took it to her heart. To get the animal she had to agree that the dog’s tumor would be operated on immediately.

Full of joy about the animal she asked me for a remedy. I didn’t really know what to do, but examined the dog and felt a hard, not movable tumor at the mammary gland, which is very characteristic for Conium. I prescribed Conium 200C.

After some time the tumor got somewhat smaller and was moveable. The tumor was now hanging down like a ball. It was still hard, but globated and hanging and dragging on the floor in a sack of skin. As it was moveable, it didn’t seem to have any vascularization anymore.

Then a small cut was made to remove the tumor and the dog was cured. He still lived three further years and died from infirmity.

Case 2: A dog with melanoma

Another impressive case concerns the treatment of a bitch ill with advanced melanoma. Her female pet owner was ill with MALT-lymphoma and already treated for some time. She asked me for a remedy for her dog.

.

The woman sadly told me that the dog was dying. She had a malignant melanoma on her hind leg which was already operated on three years ago, but relapsed and may have built metastases already. The dog could hardly walk and was lying apathetically. She had hardly eaten anything for two weeks. The veterinarian had told her that nothing could be done and that the dog had to be euthanized.

Although I had treated some animals, I’m wast specialized in the homeopathic treatment of dogs. Nevertheless I started to collect the symptoms in detail. The dog had always been a cheerful animal and used to bark boldly. She used to eat everything, especially meat and was always funny. He seemed to be a typical dog to me without any specific hints for a remedy. That is to say, I didn’t know which remedy to prescribe. But as I’ve had good expereinces with Sulphur in cases of melanoma, I asked some leading questions to confirm the remedy, a practice we actually avoid in homeopathic case-taking.

Asked about cleanliness, the owner told me that the dog enjoyed rolling in the mud. This seemed to confirm Sulphur. But Lachesis is another frequently indicated remedy in cases of melanoma. The dog finally received Sulphur in Q potency (LM) as his mental symptoms and eating preferences also pointed to Sulphur.

Let me relate the nice conversation I had when the owner called me after a fortnight: When asking how she felt she replied:

I’m feeling as well as the dog.”

I answered with a low voice: “Oh, I’m sorry, do you also feel worse again ?”

Why worse, she said, “I feel well like my dog.!”

Yes, that’s why I’m asking.”

No, I do not feel bad, I’m fine.”

What do you mean?”

Yes, the dog is fit again. She is taking her remedy daily and after three days she was already much brighter and running around in the garden, and is very cheerful again. She is barking and hopping around. She is already 14 years old but I’ve never seen her like this. Also our neighbor noticed it and asked me what happened to the dog, and said it was a miracle. I told him that she is taking a homeopathic remedy. He also wanted to get the remedy as he felt quite weak. I told him that the remedy has to be chosen individually according to the symptoms. Then he left angrily because he thought I didn’t want to tell him the name of the remedy.”

After a month of taking Sulphur in increasing Q potencies the melanoma got smaller and its size reduced from 3cm to 1cm. The dog were cheerful and running around. The melanoma disappeared completely after two months, when the dog, who always took his remedy daily, started to refuse to take the medicine. He now runs away when seeing the remedy bottle. Animals have an inherent instinct and seem to know when the remedy is not indicated. The dog remained in good health and did not show any symptoms of melanoma anymore.

Case 3: A sarcoid tumor on the penis of a horse

Now I want to describe the case of a horse suffering from a sarcoid tumor, which was treated by a nice veterinary healing practitioner, Mrs. Ursula Schaffer. She reported the symptoms so that we could chose the indicated remedy. Fortunately, some pictures have been made, otherwise nobody would believe in the power of the homeopathic minimum dose.

The horse, a 19 year old Hannoverian gelding had a conic, pointed tumor on the penis shaft which grew rapidly. Three further pea-sized nodules were palpable. Moreover, there were several pedunculated warts on his penis shaft.

Sarcoid tumor on the penis shaft

The horse had a fistula in the neck in autumn 1999. It started with an abcess which only opened after it was treated with red light and drawing salve for weeks. A fistula remained which didn’t want to close again.

The fistula was operated in february 2000. But shortly after the fistula opened again and was active for 2.5 further years, discharging a yellow, serous, sticky fluid. The horse got an abscess the size of a hen’s egg after being vaccinated in spring 2003, which disappeared by itself after some days. He got another abscess the size of a table tennis ball after being vaccinated in autumn 2004, which also disappeared after some days. He suffered paralysis of the left foreleg in 2007. The sarcoid tumor on the penis shaft appeared in 2008.

From the homeopathic point of view, the connection between suppression, vaccination ailments and the development of the chronic disease is clearly visible.

The history of the horse was investigated in detail to elaborate further homeopathic aspects, including mind symptoms and the character of the horse.

The poor horse had been castrated when young, but was still interested in mares which were in heat. He had a chronic discharge from the penis for a long time, greasy, sticky and partially with black plaques. The hooves were brittle for years. He was rather an anxious horse, fears thunderstorms and doesn’t like loud noises. He gets severe palpitations when loud tractors are driving past, or when children are screaming loudly. He is very cuddling and clinging, a pleasant and quite horse. He is very hoggish, loves everything sweet, bananas and raisin bread.

He likes licking on things, walls, hands, stones. When moulting he would show allergic reactions and a circular, elevated eruption appeared. This was treated by cortisone which constituted suppression.

Considering this history we have to consider several points:

  1. The reaction to vaccination, abscesses after vaccinations, which already point to the sycotic miasm. The miasm can form a blockage and prevent the immune system from functioning. Warts on the penis shaft. Suppressed skin eruptions.
  2. The development of the fistula, which was built by the organism as a vent to alleviate the internal disease. To remove them by surgery also means suppression and accelerates the development of the internal disease
  3. The local characteristics of the tumor.
  4. The constitutional level. That is, we have to work out the remedy which relates to the basic characteristics of the horse, as this supports the immune system in the best in the long run.

New wartlike elevations appear.

The sarcoid tumor grows outwards and displays a scurfy surface.

The traits and anxieties of the horse point to Phosphorus. The several vaccinations have intoxicated the horse and caused a condition called vaccinosis. Horses are over-vaccinated in general, some are being vaccinated every six months.

There were severe vaccination abscesses in this case. Thuja and Silicea are the main remedies for the sequelae of vaccinations. The pedunculated warts on the penis shaft and chronic discharge from the penis give clear indications for Thuja. But the fistula on the neck and brittle hooves and reaction to vaccinations point more to Silicea.

Considering these facts, treatment was started with Silicea 12C as an organotropic remedy and therefore in deep potency. The large sarcoid tumor continued to grow outwardly (see image) and fell off by itself after 8 weeks. Two further sarcoids also vanished during this time.

Four weeks later he got Thuja 200 for the warts on the penis shaft, the chronic discharge from the penis and the sequelae of vaccination. After some weeks the warts on the penis shaft fell off. This is not unimportant as these warts are caused by papilloma viruses which do have a decisive impact on the development of tumors.

The homeopathic treatment has caused a deep immune modulation so that the tumor could be cured and surgery unnecessary.

The sarcoid tumor on the penis shaft shortly before it fell off.

Later, the horse still got his constitutional remedy Phosphorus 200C, with which he remains healthy until today.

It is important to understand the connections that lead to the development of the tumor and to know that cancer is a disease that comes at the end of a long history of diseases. Thats why the chronic homeopathic treatment of patients is important, as it prevents and treats suppressions and vaccination ailments to prevent the development of cancer.

  • I am a colleague for human beings but I , very often, treat animals with homeopathy as I have many dogs, cats and horses.
Your article is very interesting for my practice and I am pleased to see that Homeopathy 4 everyone publishes articles of veterinary interest written by doctors for human beings.
In Italy we have a magazine called “the homeopathic doctor” who refused a very interesting case of anorexia in a cat who fell in love with a female who did not want him with this sentence “Every one must eat in his own plate”. Italian veterinaries who use homeopathy take offence if a human doctor tells a case of animal treated homeopathically.
Can somebody be more stupid? It means that they have not understood the deep essence of homeopathy.
Should you be interestd I could send you the case since it was very useful for me because I had in a second time the opportunity to cure 2 young girls with problems of love with no return.

  • Our 10 year old female dog developed a lump under her chin which was diagnosed by the Vet as a T-cell Lymphoma, after a biopsy was analysed. We were told that Frankie would live for another 4 – 5 months. We took her to a homeopathic Vet in East Sussex who gave her a homeopathic remedy. Frankie’s lump disappeared and she lived happily for another 4 years. she was such a friendly, bouncy, mischievous dog, loved by everyone. She got killed in a road traffic accident. If you want to see Frankie, outside the UK Houses of Parliament, google frankie homeopathy.

  • I have a 2 month old donkey foal with a preliminary Dx of lymphoma. What we thought was a hepatic septic Abcess was actually lymph nodes. There was definitely filled ln in the cecum. I am looking for something homeopathic to treat him with if it is his final Dx. Path report due back tomorrow
