Healthy living can be achieved by setting up realistic goals with regard to the food intake wherein we can switch towards to homemade/ natural/whole food. Follow these tips for healthy living, Adapt physical exercise in your routine for improved health.

Life is a celebration! In order to celebrate life we need a healthy heart and a healthier body. It is often said what appeals to your sight, stays in your mind! It’s the same with food. If we see a colorful platter presented delectably, we tend to think about its taste! Instead of restricting ourselves to a few foods, we can actually go out and try new, different and healthier versions of food. Let me share some simple and useful tips for health living.

Our focus is on the ever-increasing weight and not on the way it is increasing. There can be multiple reasons including lifestyle and stress but a major governing factor is food! As in work so with food, try getting out of “what I cannot do” and switch to “what I can do”. For example, I cannot cut my intake of coffee or junk food (which is more like a convenience food, straight from the vending machine) but I can include or introduce one fruit per week in my routine! J That’s so simple! In short, to begin your journey towards good health take the first step by focusing on realistic goals!

One of many useful health tips for healthy living is – move from these vending machine foods like French fries, burgers, hot dogs etc to restaurant food. Now your sane mind will question this? Moving to restaurant food is a better option? Yes! because there you “order” for food, your food is then “cooked” and served you at the right temperature to be consumed! In this process, you can find time for finishing up that presentation or make those quick calls to family, which is another way to cut your stress! J So, you are getting a better food (well-cooked at least) with a cut in your stress too! As you do this, you will find yourselves understanding the value of setting “realistic goals”. Next step can be a small cut in your intake of fried foods! Foods that we eat without thinking like chips, packaged snacks etc. If we decide to “not to eat” fried food one day in a week it can make a big difference to our digestive system!!

Let us try to give ourselves a reasonable expectation in terms of food too! How? Include natural food / whole food instead of processed food in your diet. Basically food which will not require much cooking or any cooking at all. Like, one whole fruit / day / week or include nuts in the similar fashion!

May I ask you to include salads? Oh! Salads! There you go! Every health related thing has to have “salads” J Well, as I said earlier what appeals to your eyes stays in your mind! You see a colorful platter full of green cucumbers or lettuce, purple cabbage, red cherry tomatoes. Will that not make you feel fresh just by the look of it? I bet, it will! And the benefits are multiple! Have you tried bungee jumping yet? Or snorkeling? Or you wish to do that once. Right? Have you thought of trying to cook? Try to carry some meals with you on the go!! It could be fruits or nuts or better, it can be roughly cut salad! When you make it yourself, you enjoy the process and the benefit of having it ready on hand when you want to grab a bite! By the time you read this, I am sure many vegetables and fruits have crossed images in your mind! So, the point I want to make is “have variety in food”! Try new foods, try new flavors, mix and match like you do in your wardrobe!! So when you admire yourselves in the mirror with those mix and match dresses you even feel better with that glowing skin naturally!

Food is not the only way to stay healthy! We should recognize the value of exercise too! My focus is upon your cardiovascular health! “Strengthen your heart!!”

A healthy heart stays in a healthy mind and when your mind has so many healthy options. I am sure your heart is not only full of health but lot of love for yourselves!!! Start being active, incorporate activity in your daily rituals. How? Try walking while you are talking on your phone! Or try stretching your legs while you are so intensely watching that star wars!!! Basically incorporating fitness in your lifestyle and yes that oft-quoted point – take the stairs instead of the elevator! JAt least once! This single health tip can make a lot of difference to your health.

While doing Google search, try searching the nearest farmers market too!! Get going! This is probably the cheapest way to get that healthy organic food! You save money! Earn that walking exercise (check our calories burned by walking calculator ) and yes, you also earn a friend in your farmer who is your food provider! Make this a ritual once a week instead of hitting the gym! In your part time try to educate yourselves a bit about the difference between processed food and natural food. Educate yourselves but do not limit yourselves by eating at particular time etc. eat at your will! When your body demands! But be careful about what are you eating! Always remember that you can!!
