We are all faced with a world increasingly controlled by multinational corporations whose motives are contrary to our health and wellbeing. They may be polluting our environment, mandating toxic vaccines, attempting to suppress homeopathy, subjecting us to microwave radiation or creating global warming. They have tentacles in local and national governments and in the media. Our expectation may be that someone more expert, or with more resources than we have, or some consumer organization will step up and defend us. Sometimes that happens, but today, individuals and even well-meaning organizations are easily swept aside by these powerful corporations. So what’s the solution?
Clair Edwards, who worked for the United Nations for 18 years, has some thoughts on this. She has collaborated with Arthur Firstenberg to publish the International Appeal to Stop 5G on Earth and in Space (www.5gspaceappeal.org). She calls 5G “the biggest biological experiment and most heinous manifestation of hubris and greed in human history.” In a recent interview Edwards said that we can no longer look to experts or politicians to help us. She believes that we should respond to 5G and other such threats, not by despair, but by seeing it as “an opportunity to empower ourselves, take responsibility and take action.” That means acting individually at whatever level we can, whether organizing in the community, contacting legislators or just informing other people. It’s about the collective power of millions of people. I recently mentioned cell phone radiation to an old friend who is highly educated and a computer expert. She admitting not knowing anything about it. We must not assume that everyone is as informed as we are. The same holds true for homeopathy and other important issues.
You may ask yourself, “How powerful is one individual?” Individuals acting together constitute the masses, the nightmare of dictators and other tyrants. That’s why those in power always seek to control the media. They know that an informed population is an overwhelming force.
