Written by Tim Couzens

Holistic veterinarian Tim Couzens, author of Horses and Homeopathy, shares his portrait of the Niccolum Metallicum horse.

COMMON NAME: Nickel

CLASSIFICATION: Mineral: Metal: Element No 28

SCHOLTEN: Column 10, Row Ferrum series

SANKARAN: Column 10, 4th row, the successful protector

PREPARATION: Trituration

AFFINITY: Cervical spinal region, pancreas, respiratory system

LATERALITY:

MIASMIC LINK: Psora

FIRST IMPRESSION: Dignified, refined, haughty, calm and controlled

Psychological type

Niccol has a “cool” gentleman-like, refined, superior, noble demeaner and is well respected on the yard; the other horses look towards the Niccol horse for guidance and protection. They have a sense of authority, confidence and knowledge and will even protect themselves and others in the herd with violence from time to time.

This is the angry, vindictive side of the remedy which helps to protect their status in the stable hierarchy. They are and feel responsible; they love the power. There is a sense of duty, they feel proud, haughty, and they like to do well, to perform well and to be appreciated for what they do. There is a sense of duty and will protect the rider. If the rider fall off the Niccol horse, it will wait by his side until all is well and things are safe.
