Nephrolithiasis & Hepatomegally in a Man of 76

Dr. Amitava Sinharay shares a case of Nephrolithiasis & Hepatomegally in a Man of 76. Weak memory, fear to be alone and restlessness were among the symptoms leading to the simillimum.

A male patient 76 years of age suffering from right side abdominal pain from loin to groin. After doing the abdominal ultrasonography it shows right nephrolithiasis (A 6.08 mm size of calculus is seen in upper pole of right kidney), Hepatomegally with fatty changes grade I & cholesterosis gall bladder.

Previously he was treated by different system of medicine but there was no change. After that he had been suggested for surgery but declined.

CASE HISTORY OF PATIENT:

  • Occupation- retired serviceman

PRESENE COMPLAINTS-

  • Right side abdominal pain from loin to groin. After doing the Whole abdominal ultrasonography it shows
  • Periodically Headache with nausea.
  • Obstinate Constipation.
  • Dyspepsia
  • Lower abdomen pain Right to left

PAST HISTORY-

  • Typhoid about 15 years ago
  • Chicken pox about 12 years ago

DISCUSSION

In this case, Lycopodium  is selected based on characteristic symptoms of the patient, family history and depending on miasmatic background. Patient has similar physical constitution as stated in Lycopodium, profuse sweat in night, easily catches cold, also has history of tuberculosis in family are the characteristic symptoms of Lycopodium but we have mainly emphasized the mind symptoms.

CONCLUSION-

Lycopodium was selected after considering the mental generals, physical generals, particular symptoms and family history of the patient, and finally the patient cured by this remedy.
