Homoeopathic Therapeutics in Universal Medical Terminology by Dr. Rajneesh Kumar Sharma is reviewed by Dr. Kavitha Kukunoor

This book is a great resource for both the novice and the seasoned practitioner.

There are lots of books on homeopathy in materia medica, repertory, Organon philosophy but we see little in understanding homeopathic therapeutics.

Homoeopathic Therapeutics in Universal Medical Terminology by Dr. Rajneesh Kumar Sharma is designed so that it is easy to understand and learn the essential remedy list as per CCH syllabus and CCRH (Ministry of AYUSH) about the disease, differential diagnosis, investigations, required findings, and remedy diagnosis in universal medical terminology.

It is a very unique, colorful book providing everything a practitioner needs to know about a remedy, about treating patients for disease conditions, classical homeopathic concepts and scientific universal terminology.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part deals with remedy keynotes and differential diagnosis of ailments covered by each remedy along with investigations required and their interpretations. What I appreciate the most is how uniquely it is designed (see below). It is limited to 320 remedies.

The author clearly explains homoeopathy in universally accepted medical terms i.e. diagnostic terminology. It reveals generals behind particulars and vice versa in a few words.

It gives knowledge of various tests and diagnosis of diseases as well as ascertaining prognosis of each case along with homoeopathic therapeutics, miasmatic analysis, posology and repertory of universal medical terms.

It saves a lot of time that would be needed to refer to several books as this book has all the information about remedies, their abbreviations, their provers and corresponding miasms. E.g. Car-p Carica papaya for jaundice, hepatitis, milk intolerance (cramps, bloating, diarrhea).

Dr. Rajneesh Sharma made the repertory and disease conditions as red line symptoms of materia medica and summarized therapeutics in red line symptoms.

This book discusses various laboratory tests and explains their interpretation. There is a section with remedy relationships, including inimicals and complementary and antidotal remedies. It has references and an index with alphabetical order of disease conditions.
