Mom, it’s time for the quiz again!!
I’m so excited about it. Didn’t one of our quiz readers say she wanted a quiz where you have to guess the remedies for Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, and Howard, the nerds on “The Big Bang Theory”?
Yes, it was Maria who blurted that out!
Before we move on with our reader-requested, “completely different quiz”, I have a few of my timely announcements to make.
Oh dear God….
Announcement the first. “MTV Unplugged”, the acoustic Scorpions concert, has now been released in Germany and tomorrow (the British people are so lucky) it is being released in the United Kingdom.
Who cares, Shana!
Remember that day I stayed home watching German TV on the internet?
Yes, it was a blessed occasion. I actually got to listen to Robin Murphy in the car instead of The Scorpions!
MTV Unplugged has been airing on foreign television stations and Germany was one of them. These other countries are so lucky that it’s made me want to be a foreigner for a day.
Are you going to move?
MTV Unplugged will air in the following countries: Finland, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Poland, Vietnam, Asia, Thailand, China, and Denmark.
How nice. Is that it?
December 7th, Germany will have a 3 hour documentary on the Scorpions so I’m staying home to watch that. Make sure there’s bread here because I’ll be wanting toast.
Did you say 3 hours? The Scorpions are going to be on German TV for 3 hours? Are they at a loss for programming ideas over there?
Mom, in case you haven’t noticed, the Scorpions are very popular in Germany and they themselves are German; so, I think it was a good idea on Germany’s part!
December 10th is when the United States gets the MTV Unplugged DVD (so I hear) but I saw a conflicting date on the Scorpions official twitter account.
Maybe you should call for an investigation!
I can’t wait. Another reason I want to be a foreigner is that the Scorpions are still touring in all these foreign countries.
There’s been a bunch of rumors of tour dates for 2014. All still foreign like Spain for example but at least if we were able to afford to go there I already know the language. I think.
My Spanish might be rusty but I really, really want to see the Scorpions.
Is that it?
Speaking of my favorite rock bands touring….
I guess it’s not it.
I saw somewhere that the Rolling Stones will have a show in Adelaide, Australia next year.
Does that mean we have to move to Australia?
I wish I was European.
Shana!!!!!!! Australia is NOT in Europe!
It would be easier to see the Scorpions too.
But I’m sure we could arrange for you to be adopted by one of our European readers–Maybe Maria! You and she could watch “The Big Bang Theory” together!
Anyway, that’s all for my announcements.
Thank God!!!!!!! Now I have to do a “Heavy Metal Cleanse”!!!!
(with Smokey Robinson and the Miracles):
“Way Over There” from 1960
I got a lover way over there on the mountain side and I know that’s where I should be…
Mom! You can stop singing now, because….
It’s on to the QUIZ!!!!
Now, as you know, it is holiday season in most of the world–Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s Eve, etc., so, in that spirit, we are having a fun quiz this month! You’ve watched “The Big Bang Theory” with me, haven’t you Mom?
Yes, last night, remember?
I’m sure you might be able to pick up on things I may not have noticed. It makes me so happy to be able to share something I love with you and get to see you enjoy it.
Does this mean you’ll watch “Auntie Mame” with me now?
Well, I’ll just have to get back to ya!
So here is our quiz! Your job is to guess the constitutional remedy of the guy pictured below–Raj. He’s an astro-physicist, he’s from India but working in the United States.
He’s shy, he can’t speak in front of girls unless he’s drunk or has taken his anti-anxiety medication. I’ve also noticed he has very feminine interests such as watching romantic movies. Raj’s parents are also apparently very wealthy. I believe his father is a gynecologist. His parents are also always setting him up on dates and wanting him to marry an Indian girl and give them grandchildren.
So the one thing his parents want him to do–get married and have children–he can’t do because he’s afraid of women! So he’s constantly failing his parents! The best episode with Raj was when his sister came from India and he kept forbidding her to do things and she kept ignoring him! See if you can find that clip!
Here it is, Mom! Actually, I’ve got two of them, watch them back to back:
Oh! This is a riot! This episode should have won an Emmy! OK, everybody, what is Raj’s remedy? Write to me at [email protected] and let me know! The name of the first clip, if you have to google it, is “Rajesh Is Mad About Leonard and Priya Getting Together” and the name of the second clip is, “The Herb Garden Germination”. The answer will be in the January ezine, and……..allow me to say Happy Birthday to the hpathy ezine, which in January 2014 will be 10 years old! 🙂
Happy New Year, everyone!!!
