EDITORIAL – August 2021 – Dealing With Vaccine Resistant Variants

EDITORIAL – August 2021 – Dealing With Vaccine Resistant Variants – Alan V. Schmukler

Recently the UK Government’s scientific advisory group stated that it was “almost certain” that a SARS-Cov-2 variant will emerge that “leads to current vaccine failure.”.   Meanwhile, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the covid variants labeled Epsilon and Lambda have developed resistance to vaccines.

These new vaccine-resistant variants may soon become dominant, and there is no way to manufacture vaccines as fast as the virus mutates. Furthermore, many poorer countries can’t afford them and so they are unavailable. In the U.S., where they are readily available, a recent NPR/Marist poll found that one in four Americans said they would refuse the vaccine because of safety concerns. Attempts to force vaccines on people can easily lead to civil strife. Therefore, as a practical matter, at least for now, governments must focus on effective, affordable and safe treatments.

As everyone reading this journal knows, no virus can ever become resistant to  homeopathic remedies. They work regardless of the variant. Attempts to identify a single homeopathic remedy to prevent covid-19 have not met with the same success as in past epidemics, but as therapeutic tools they are unmatched.

In January Hpathy.com posted an entire issue of covid-19 articles and cured cases demonstrating that fact. These were just a fraction of the successes by physicians using homeopathy worldwide.  In homeopathy we have an existing therapeutic that can be manufactured quickly in great numbers, stored indefinitely at room temperature, distributed easily, is affordable by the poorest countries, and has proven efficacy against covid-19. Finally, they have no chemical side effects, so there would be no safety concerns to deter acceptance.

This pandemic still poses great dangers, but with an intelligent approach, free of politics and dogma, it can be brought under control. If governments wish to protect their population, gain the trust of the people, and recover their economies, all it takes is an open mind. The solution is already here.

  • I used to think that homeopathy would finally occupy its deserved place in medicine as the number one, as soon as resistant varieties of bacteria became more common, or when viruses showed up witch were resistant to current conventional remedies.
    I was mistaken!
Homeopathy is the most dangerous threat to Big Pharma’s indecent interests exactly because of its efficacy.
Right now I only find comfort in the truth that there is only one power in the Universe.

I think you’ve expressed a common sentiment among homeopaths. It’s been difficult to overcome the powerful propaganda campaign waged worldwide by Pharma.

  • As practitioners we are all confident that we can treat COVID affected patients of any mutations of the disease effectively. However, who is going to come to us confidently. How can we propagate this to the general public that we have better system available to treat COVID. We have to prove to general public that this is possible. But how? Are we legally allowed to claim that we can treat COVID?
What is use of having a fantastic tool in hand if we can’t use it. It is like a monkey holding a diamond.
In my opinion, demonstrating the effectiveness and of homeopathic remedies to the general public and gaining their confidence requires government’s help which calls for a strong leadership to achieve that. This should start in a country where Homeopathy is not ridiculed, such as India.
    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
    Mukund Kulkarni

    • Well said. Homeopaths in India are now permitted to treat Covid, so that’s a good sign. Educating the public is an ongoing challenge.

  • Unfortunately, homeopathy is only one treatment modality that works with covid, variants and the like. Ivermectin is a clear example along with a range of other treatments. The clear signal is that even with super safe off-label drugs with good real world evidence, the drug is being entirely dismissed. This is an injustice likely already costing the global population millions of lives lost – with no end in sight.

Homeopathy’s efficacy is sort of a moot point. Meaning if the powers that be won’t even LOOK @ effective off-label drugs, homeopathy hardly has a chance. In addition, homeopathy has SUCH a small presence that it would be hard pressed to make a dent even if it were considered. The scale of the issues is so large, and we are so tiny we’d not be able to help many.

In any case, each of us who have the privilege to see covid patients can work our consistent magic. Rather than measuring homeopathy against covid – an unlikely match give the above issues – we’d do better to strategically grow our presence.

This way we’d be in a better position to be of use during upcoming pandemics.
