Curare and Myasthenia Gravis

Because of my work on Myasthenia Gravis last year I was approached by a desperate father whose son Edson, 18 years old, was suffering from Myasthenia Gravis and allopathic medications no longer worked.

Our recommendation was that Edson take Curare 30 CH, 10 drops 3x/day and gradually abandon the use of allopathic drugs. After two months Edson, called me and reported that he was fine and had stopped the allopathic medicines. The boy’s father attested to his son’s current state of health without symptoms of Myasthenaa Gravis.

Three Tips from Vet Jacques Millemann

— Tracheal Collapse in Yorkshire terriers

In such cases, the first thing to do is face the emergency caused by their coughing and their possible choking. Use two granules of Aspidosperma quebracho in 5CH right during the fit. This remedy will allow better oxygenation of the blood. Also use Conchiolinum in a low dilution (5CH) morning and evening for about ten days.

— Conchiolinum

Low potencies( 6 XH to 5 CH) stimulate the growth and formation of cartilage, high dilutions (30 CH ) act more like a brake.

— Dislocated Knee Cap

Gelsemium is the only remedy that shows a spontaneous knee cap dislocation in its pathogenesis.

Appendicitis Tip

In this epidemic of appendicitis I have had my share of cases, and as yet have not had to go outside of Echinacea, Belladonna, Merc cor. and Arsenicum. I consider their importance as I have placed them. If there is any such thing as a specific (which I am sure there is not) Echinacea gtt. once in 30, 60, 120 minutes is a specific for appendicitis. It has proved so with me, but I have no guiding symptoms to offer.

Keynotes of Sepia

The eyelids pain in the morning when awaking, as if they were too heavy, and as if he could not keep them open. Very important in stiffness of eyelids. Small, red pimples on forehead ; rough forehead (pimples extend to the face), canine hunger and sensation of emptiness in the stomach. Herpes — scaling on the elbows. Itch and scabs on the hands. Soldiers’ itch.

Dr. Adolph Lippe

Drunk with Dark Red Face

Where the drunken person is lying with a dark red face, staring eyes and twitching in the muscles of the face…. give every quarter of an hour in alternation Opium and Belladonna until he recovers, and then whatever the symptoms call for.

Antimonium crudum in Gout

In adults who are tormented with gout, Antimonium crudum is especially useful when gout has become constitutional. There will be gouty nodes in many of the joints. It here helps, provided there are the gastric symptoms characteristic of the remedy present, but not otherwise.

Vaccination

To give Aconitum for the fever after vaccination is injurious, as shown in many cases. The best remedy, confirmed by hundreds of cases, against bad consequences of vaccination, is Silicea. It is serviceable for eruptions, swelled glands under the arm, or boils on the head; for very red, inflamed and suppurating swelling of the arm, extending sometimes to the shoulder-joint, which brings the child in great danger….and even for convulsions, which follow one or two weeks after vaccination.

Cimex Lectularius (Bedbug)

It has one characteristic symptom which has been verified. “Sensation as if the tendons were too short.” There is sometimes actual contraction as if the legs cannot be stretched out. Pain in all joints as if tendons were too short. Inclination to stretch.

Aphtha— Thrush in Horses

Thrush is occasionally met with in the horse. It consists in an eruption of small vesicles on the mucous membrane lining the mouth. When the fluid in these vesicles is discharged, small ulcers are observed, and this ulcerated condition may be somewhat widely spread from the small ulcers running together. The lining of the mouth peels off, leaving below a tender surface, which prevents the animal from eating as usual.

Treatment — In all cases begin with Kali chloricum. If, after giving this remedy for a few days, no improvement is manifest, substitute Mercurius.

Psorinum

Psorinum is a wonderful remedy. When you get another case of cholera infantum, with little left except the bones, with a wrinkled skin drawn over them, giving the child an old “mummy” look, give it and be astonished, especially if the discharges are so offensive that Asafoetida compared with it would seem a sweet perfume.

Myosotis

Myosotis is a remedy that deserves our notice in cases of tubercular consumption. Some of you may have seen a report I made some years ago where it cured some cases almost hopeless.

Abrotanum

A woman lying in bed with dyspnoea, anxiety, cold sweat and pain in the heart was surrounded by friends to see her die. It was learned that she had suffered for many months with a rheumatism in one knee ….. and that she had recently been speedily cured (?) by a strong liniment only a few days before this attack. Abrotanum restored her to health promptly.

The Abrotanum patient is sensitive to cold air and cold damp weather. He suffers much from backaches, and his symptoms are worse during the night. In boys it cures hydrocele. In infants it cures bleeding from the navel.

James Tyler Kent, M.D. – Lectures on Homœopathic Materia Medica

Mezereum in Periostitis

Mezereum is particularly adapted to periostitis, less to ostitis, and is particularly appropriate at a period of the disease when no complete suppuration has yet set in. With this remedy we have cured an inflammation of the tibia, where a portion of the bone, several inches in extent, was considerably and painfully distended.

Phosphoric acid

Phosphoric acidum is indicated in the inflammatory bone affections of children, especially in inflammations of the vertebrae, if there is an evident disposition to caries and ichorous dissolution.

Limits of Aconitum

Aconite has no power to control fevers depending upon a poisoned state of the blood, such as exists in Enteric, Typhus, and Intermittent fever. Even in the eruptive fevers — Scarlatina, etc. — it cannot reduce the pulse until the eruption comes out.

E. Harris Ruddock MD – The Homeopathic Vade Mecum of Modern Medicine and Surgery

Consequences of Colds

If catarrh results from a cold, and the patient can neither smell nor taste, give Pulsatilla.

For cold in the head from wet feet, give Allium Cepa.

When a person, while perspiring freely, gets drenched by a shower of rain, give Rhus. Should no relief be experienced within ten or twelve hours, and if the patient had previously over-exerted himself, give Bryonia.

Constantine Hering, M. D. – The Homoeopathic Domestic Physician

Cantharis in Calculi

We find that Cantharis is a valuable remedy in the passage of renal calculi, especially when the pains are very violent. It has been stated in controversy that it was nonsense to talk about relieving the pains from the passage of renal calculi by homoeopathic medication. The ureter is a narrow tube and the stone is frequently large, and it is said that it cannot be passed without pain. This is a mistake. The indicated remedy may so lessen local irritability, that the pain attendant on the passage of renal calculi may be greatly modified.

E.A. Farington M.D – A Clinical Materia Medica

Recognizing Aurum

Dealing with Gold cases we must take care to differentiate them from other similar drug pictures. Mercurius for instance has the same salivation and bad smell from the mouth; Kalium bichrom, the same perforated ulcers in the nose with the same tough and yellowish mucous; Asafoetida, the same flatulence and evil smelling secretions; Arsenicum the same enlarged glands with general anaemia and weakness. In all these and similar conditions the mental symptoms are decisive. The typical melancholia is the indispensable key symptom for Gold. If the patient does not show it, Gold will prove a failure.

Baryta Carb in Enlarged Tonsils

In scrofulous children, where every little cold starts up inflammation of the tonsils; the glands of the neck and behind the ear are swollen; it removes the predisposition to tonsillitis, and cures chronic enlargement of the tonsils.
